I found my new stylist!

I am a recent transplant to Indianapolis from San Antonio, and needed a haircut badly. I had been going to the same lady for almost 10 years back in Texas, and was apprehensive about putting my wavy, thick hair that I like to wear straight in new hands. I called Mode Salon on a Saturday asking if there were any openings. The woman who answered, Angie, didn't immediately say she had an opening, but after hearing my nervousness about trying a new stylist, suggested that she herself would take care of me. I could not be more pleased with the outcome. Besides reshaping my hair nicely, she cut some new, "in" bangs for me, which I was nervous about because even my old stylist hadn't gotten them quite right. Hers are perfect. I would recommend Angie at Mode Salon to anyone--and I have, since everyone has asked me where I got my hair cut. Affordable, too.

• Pros: long hours during week, full-service salon, centrally located, affordable
• Cons: I imagine they get booked quick--but I got a same-day appt.

Mode stylist trumps competition

I recently moved to Indy from California and delayed having anyone touch my long hair for about 7 months (I'm pretty picky). Then I read another new resident's experience at Mode, particularly with stylist Angie. I had my hair cut today, and I have to say that Angie is the real deal -- a real talent. She listened to what I wanted, instantly had a plan and delivered with star-power. She gave me the best 'do I've had outside of L.A.

Mode is the place to go if you want to look good, and I appreciated its unpretentious atmosphere, friendly staff and fab stylist. Thank you, Angie, for making me feel like "home"...and look great, too!

Won't go anywhere else

I have been going to Mode for 3 years now and won't go anywhere else. Xanthe who has been my stylist for the last year and a half there is very friendly and knows exactly what to do. She listens to what I want and completely delivers. The atmosphere is calming and they take their time to get things right. Nothing ever feels rushed. I recommend this place to anyone.

Great experience at Mode Salon!

The master stylist was very professional and friendly! She's also FAST! My shampoo and style appointment lasted a little over an hour...very impressive! I purposely gave her very little direction for the styling because I wanted to see what she would do. She styled my hair to frame my face and I loved it! (Usually, I walk out the door, get in my car and immediately start "fixing" my hair, even after I told the stylist exactly what I wanted)

The salon is neat, nicely decorated and comfortable. My favorite feature?! The sinks! I am very short and at most salons I find myself having to stretch uncomfortably to get my head right in the sink, or just get soaked down my back. At Mode, the sinks adjust to you!!

The staff was very friendly as well. I made a second appointment, and they worked with me to get the time I wanted. I called and left a message to see if I could reschedule and within an hour I received a phone call back. Also, if you give them your e-mail, you will recieve a Welcome Letter, which I thought was nice, and appointment reminders, which I think is GREAT!

Very nice salon!

I'm new to the city and needed a great stylist to shape up my hair. After trying several places, I found what I was looking for at Mode. The staff is great, the atmosphere is charming. I was in and out in two hours. I highly recommend it.

A Wonderful Salon

This has been the best salon I have been to. It is always clean. The atmosphere is always comforting and relaxing. The staff always makes you feel right at home. I would not go anywhere else. I have been going to this salon for almost four years and have always been treated with love, care, and respect there is no one better than my Mode Salon!!!!! Keep up the wonderful work you guys do.

Had a Great Time

I heard a lot of good things about this salon...so I decided to go and see for myself. I got my hair highlighted and cut, and received a wonderful facial. I was very impressed by their staff. Their professionalism, efficiency and skills were top notch. I love my hair, and my skin feels rejuvinated. I will definately be back!

best hair salon in all of indy

i am a new comer to indy, and as a african american women it was very important for me to find a salon that specalizes in black hair care. so one dayi was searching the web and mode salon came up, as a saw that the mater stlyist was an african american i decided to give it a try. the instant i walked in, i fall in love with the mod-deco. i was greeted by the master stylist and as i explianed to her the style that i wanted done, she immediately understood what i meant. between the space of forty-five mintues to an hour i had a beautiful hairdo and was on my way to the mall to show it off. personaly i found the service helpful and very productive. the master stylist was a doll, she took her work seriously and with great patiance and caution.

• Cons: only one of its kind

Stay Away!

I would not recommend going to this salon, because the stylist are not up to date on the newest styles. I feel like they charge way too much for what you get. I was not impressed at all. I felt like the master stylist was not "master" by any means. She was rude and very cocky, I do not like being in that environment.
