Robin Run has been wonderful to me while I have lived here. I had some surgery and some long recovery time. The facility was a great help. My Garden Home is very nice and well cared for. Maintenance has very responsive to all my requests (replacing my water heater within 12 hours). Fixing the garbage disposal within hours, replacing bulbs within hours. Generally very responsive. A recent change in the staffing has increased the response time and effectiveness. The transportation department has been very helpful on trips to and from the airport, and doctors. The indoor pool has been a wonderful experience and I have never found it unusable because of the number of people using it. The landscaping has been greatly increased over the last year. The individual lawns and being better cared for since the change in management. (There is stillroom for improvement) The people here and the activities have exceeded my expectations. It is truly a place to develop friendships. Tom Draper

Pros: More responsive than ever

Cons: somewhat expensive with the monthly dues

New management and the loss of loved and key staff people have resulted in a less desirable place to live. Corporate management is not responsive to resident requests or wishes. It is becoming a “cookie cutter” environment rather than one focused on the unique nature of the Robin Run residents, their history or their desires. On a positive note, there are many activities and interests to become involved in. No one is really paying attention to my mother or her needs. I no longer feel comfortable that staff will let me know if there is a concern for her welfare as there is no longer any communication. My mother feels as though the apartments are becoming like a nursing home with a medical focus. Things are constantly changing which is hard for the older generation. A much needed and long promised renovation has begun, but the costs of living at Robin Run continue to go up while the satisfaction goes down. It will take more than a pretty environment to make people happy. Make no mistake, this is big business. There is no longer a personal touch.

Pros: Interesting residents, pretty grounds, swimming pool

Cons: Poor management, fewer caring staff, lacks personalization

My parents have owned their own home in Robin Run for over fifteen years, and we could not be more pleased with the richness of their lives there. Surrounded by good, caring people from their cul de sac neighbors to the staff, they have remained active and hopeful into their nineties. With endless activites from a wonderful walking path, New Zealand bowling, shuffleboard, jigsaw puzzling, computer learning, indoor swimming(with wheelchair access), ping-pong and pool playing, and optional interaction with children onsite, they know they can move later into adult daycare, a smaller apartment in the tower, or into the nursing home with circular Alzeimers unit. Robin Run has been great for them.

Pros: Endless options

Cons: A bit of a trek to medical services

My parents have lived at Robin Run Village for over nine years, and we have been very impressed with the facility, the staff, and the new management (Brookdale). It is a warm and caring place, and the food in the dining room is excellent. Management and staff know each resident by name. It's easy to see that the place is well liked by the cheerful demeanor of the residents.

Pros: Well designed, Caring personnel, Great food

Cons: somewhat costly
