Awesome pancakes

The chocolate chip pancakes were out of this world. The chocolate chips were melting in mouth! Large comprehensive menu. Waitress was constantly bringing us refills without asking.
- Pros: large menu, great pancakes, reasonable prices
- Cons: might have to wait on weekends
Made-to-order breakfasts---including over a dozen unique flapjacks---stack the odds in this restaurant's favor.

In Short
Founded in Oregon circa 1953, this simply-furnished spot owes its success to its creative menu and fresh ingredients. Batters are made on the premises; a special "sourdough starter" keeps treats from tasting overly sweet. Patrons choose from eggs, waffles, crepes and oven-baked omelets, as well as signature plates like blueberry pancakes (served with or without compote), giant cinnamon-glazed apple pancakes, thin and chewy "49-ers" and the air-filled, lemon-and-sugar-topped "Dutch Baby."
BEWARE! Indiana Department of Health to get involved!!!

We were with a party of 6 on August 5, 2007. We were left in the entryway for approximately 10 minutes before we were spoken to. The girl wasn't friendly, appearence was messy and we received no eye contact (while she joked and laughed with her co-wokers).
Sweet and accomodating waitress.
The next day, 4 out of the 6 of us came down with SEVERE SICKNESS (I'm only using "sickness" because this review won't let me write what it's medical term is). It's now 4 days later and the symptoms are still there! I noticed while paying our check that 2 employees used the restroom, quite quickly I might add! This just might explain how we all got sick...employees at OHOP do not follow food and health rules.
We contacted OHOP on 4 occassions. We were put on hold, hung up on and promised a call-back. It's impossible to get to a manager, there always was an excuse. Not once did we get an apology, nor did we get to speak with a manager regarding this situation.
We have since taken this to the Indiana Department of Health/Food Inspection.
I would hate for all of you to get sick too, so I'll post an update as soon as we further the investigation with the State of Indiana. In the mean tim, Beware when eating at OHOP.
- Pros: None.
- Cons: cooks don't wash hands!
We experienced a few glitches

OPH's reputation didn't hold true for a recent visit. The serving staff was friendly but not efficient and both of our orders were sent back for changes. The outdoor courtyard is pleasant and beverages are refreshed from a nearby station, although more than once we were the ones who replenished our water. We'll try again.
I wish there were more!
