I'll be honest... until a couple of weeks ago, I hadn't been to a Max and Erma's in nearly twenty years. I thought the restaurant was geared to seniors as it was one of my grandparents favorites forever ago. I was so surprised by my experience. The food was delicious. I tasted the hamburger and was initially jealous that I didn't order it... then I tried my soup (the tortilla soup) and salad (hula salad) and that jealousy disappeared! The soup was delicous (I tried not to think about my caloric intake) and the salad was fresh and a delicous blend of flavors and textures. The only negative for me was the minimal booth options (because we are booth-preferring people), but we sat in the bar and were very comfortable.
Pros: Food, Service, Parking
Cons: Not enough booths compared to tables

Try the "Garbage" Burger. You can choose a great number of tasty items to suit your taste buds! It can get a little sloppy, but sometimes sloppy is fantastic.

I can honestly say that Max & Ermas has the best cheeseburgers. Not to mention the service was great. You have to try the BBQ Cheeseburger, I know that it sounds weird, but it is so good!!
Pros: Great Service, Great Food, Lots of choices
Cons: , Temperature, Not very many booths

I've not been to the south-side M&I's, but the Castleton location is outstanding! Great food, great drinks (that's more the bartender, though) and the servers are very good. All in all, a very good place to eat one of the best burgers in town!
Pros: food, drinks, price
Cons: decor (getting old), seating

The burgers at Max and Erma's are thick, juicy, meaty burgers fit for a man's appetite. Not just a burger for the men, but an Erma burger for the ladies! Excellent taste, quality, best burger in town!!
Pros: great food, interesting decor
Cons: tight seating, small waiting area

Always great food. There usually isn't much of a wait unless you go during prime hours.

When I go to M & E's by myself, I handly get waited on. I also have to go to the bar to get any food. The waiters may visit my table once.

Slow service would be a compliment....although once you receive your food, it's quite good (if you don't die of starvation before you get your burger!)
