I would not wish this terrible place on my worst enemy! It isn't most of the waitresses, it is the stupid managers and the loser sub-managers. The lousy, pierced-up pig staff behind the grill. the antisocial personalities, and criminal-types they hire. They used to have nice older Mom-types. Now they have teenagers and crackheaded emo crazies working there. Got a tip for them: SUBSTANCE-ABUSE TEST THAT SLIME YOU CALL STAFF. STOP MAKING YOUR WAITRESSES CLEAN THE FLOORS AND GET THE LAZY BUMS BACK THERE TO DO IT. AMERICA DOESN'T WANT DEGENERATES COOKING FOR THEM.

Pros: NOTHING ANYMORE

Cons: FOOD SERVICE, CLEANLINESS, MANAGERS, COOKS, EVERYTHING

Been to Stake N Shakes all over this fair land. However, when it takes 20 mins to even get noticed at the counter (mind you she cleaned the counter in front of us while we sat there- then came back 20 mins later, she busy socializing) and more than 2 and 1/2 hours for a lousy burger, well I can say I will never darken their door again. The worst service on the planet, maybe the galaxy. Better off picking through the trash- at least it won't take 3 hours.

Pros: there are none

Cons: bad service, rude and slow staff

I will never eat at Steak N Shake again. Their spaghetti sauce tastes like ketchup. It was not good at all. Also, ever time I have gone through the drive thru it takes forever!! They are the slowest drive thru I've ever been through. Only thing I would recommend is the fudge brownie al la mode. That's actually pretty good!

Steak N Shake is not be the best that Indianapolis has to offer. The burgers are average at best. The pepper condiment on the tables tastes like salty vinegar and it is quite pricey for what they serve.

Pros: clean

Cons: bland

With all of the great resaurants in Indy, you guys come up with Steak-n-shake! Maybe you should look outside the relm of restaurants that advertise with you. Try Yats, Charlie Dogs, Cafe Patachu or Arnies. About the only one I agree with is Mug-n-Bun... Come on Indy does have a little culture besides Wendy's!

Their milkshakes are far from great, their chili really sucks, and the hamburger's are overpriced

Steak N Shake is a great place to go if you are with a large group of people. It's not a formal place, but it's good.

Pros: cheap, good food, sit down dinner

Cons: not the best service

I do not care for the food there everytime I get a steakbuger it is so greasy,its dripping in it,if you like that kind of thing the thats the place for you

the food is ok, but on the bland side. the relish on the steak burgers is my favorite reason for going there! the prices are NOT cheap, even with only one child our family consideres this a place to go "if daddy worked overtime this week" or if we are celebrating a good report card or we are having a treat. the service is the worst! i cannot tell you how many times i have been out late at night or even 4 am with friends and family and we left because no one would wait on us at all! the tables are covered in dirty dishes and you hear the employees talking and laughing but they cant be found to wait on you. drive thru? i am usually so mad all i want to drive thru is the building !

steak and shake has no business being a cheap restaurant in indianapolis their poor service and food is very far over rated and their prices are steep, not to mention

Pros: pretty nice food, friendly

Cons: price, over rated
