Delicious and unique breakfast

by hannahmichellet

I went to Three Sister's Cafe with my sister for breakfast. It was about a 50 minute drive from my house, but it was very worth it. I would do it again in a heart beat. The service was great- attentive and friendly but not overbearing or uncomfortable. I ordered the homemade granola and a bowl of berries ($3.50 for the granola, $2.75 for the strawberries). The portion was generous and the fruit was fresh and tasty even though it's January. The granola was outstanding. My sister ordered the garden eggs. It was a wonderful blend of eggs, onions, peppers, mushrooms, goat cheese, squash, and other vegetables. It was delicious. We also split a bowl of the calico potatoes ($4). They are a must have. They're a blend of regular and sweet potatoes and onions with a great, sort of sweet blend of seasonings (rosemary was in there, I think). The coffee was very good, much better than your average restaurant coffee. The atmosphere is different and cute. It's relaxed and unique. I will definitely be returning. Our bill was $21.50, not including tip.

  • Pros: great food, good prices, lots of options (both healthy and not so healthy)
  • Cons: extra charge for egg whites, not much parking

Great eating!

by CSMobileUser2

My wife and I had the Blackbean Burger with Potatoe Salad and the Portobello Mushroom burger with 3 Bean Chili respectably. The best mushroom burger I've had in recent years and my wife like hers as well. The dessert, chocolate cake, was fresh, thick and moist. Over all, very fresh and tasty food served with a smile by a candid lady that kept calling us her babies!

What happened to this place?!?

by hoosiergal

This used to be one of my favorite spots. My daughter is a vegetarian and there are not a lot of places that both of us really enjoy together. This was one of them...sadly, the active word there is "was".

People there used to be friendly and helpful. The last few times, the service has declined to the point that I just can't make myself willing to try again. And worse, the meals that used to really attract my daughter are now off the menu.

So all I can ask is, what happened?!?

  • Pros: Some of the meals, especially breakfast are still good
  • Cons: The service...terrible attittudes and SLOOOOOW.

Great food, awful service

by trece

We enjoyed this restuarant immensly until a few weeks ago. The waitress we had was awful!!! She had little patience and got our order wrong more than once. Not too mention her attitude was God-awful. We went back to give them a second chance and WE WERE ASKED TO LEAVE because we requested another waitress instead of the one we had weeks prior. We were called a-holes and basically escorted to the door per the manager. I will never go back and I am informing everyone I know not to patronize this establishment.

  • Pros: Great menu selections
  • Cons: The customer sevice

Outstanding food.. if you have the time!

by JenInIndy

Absolutely wonderful place for breakfast/brunch! The food is fresh and delicious. Not only does it get really busy on weekends, resulting in a wait - once you are seated, the service (while friendly) is far from speedy. Be prepared to spend some time at the table - waiting. Waiting for more coffee... waiting for your meal... waiting for your check.. etc. Despite those negatives, the food is worth the hassle!

  • Pros: Food is to-die-for
  • Cons: Service leaves a lot to be desired

Delicious food, fast and friendly service

by deadw

This is a breakfast and lunch place that is open from 8 am to 4 pm daily with breakfast served all day on the weekends. We went for lunch and had the Mezza Plate (warm pita served with samples of tomato concasse, salsa, gorgonzola-spinach spread, hummus, pesto, feta, black olives, and black bean salsa). Excellent. We also had the 3 Sisters grilled sandwich with brie, sliced apples, and berries. My daughter had the grilled cheese with cheddar, parmesan, fresh mozzarella, and feta and my husband had the Salmon Salad with goat cheese. All of this (including 3 soft drinks) cost $39 plus tip. I'm looking forward to going back and trying some of their other food. For meat eaters, they had a smoked salmon pizza, BLT, pork tenderloin, turkey club, grilled chicken sandwich, and Southwestern Pita with either chicken or grouper. Main down side is the limited seating and on-street parking only.

  • Pros: Good food, service fast and friendly
  • Cons: Parking, limited seating

Great food quality, super value

by bruceklop

Eclectic - veggie fare plus meats...homemade desserts. Old house with a grungy, hippie feel. Great value and food quality, very tasty and unusual menu. Nice outdoor porch dining. Fun place to eat.

  • Pros: Food quality, price, desserts
  • Cons: Parking, no alcohol

Sunny windows, creaky wood floors and healthy entrees set the tone at this vegetarian-friendly restaurant.

by Contributor

The Scene
The mismatched tables and chairs, colorful Fiestaware and sunny windows make this old Broad Ripple frame house charming and irresistible. The implausibly good-natured servers keep everything laid back and pleasant. It's the perfect place to linger over the morning paper or to catch up with an old friend over an easygoing dinner.

The Food
Lavish breakfasts are on the healthy side: Multigrain oatmeal, pancakes drizzled with berry sauce and house-made granola will start your engine. The powerhouse potatoes are a meal unto themselves with spuds overflowing with tofu, cheese and salsa. Heaping plates of earthy vegetarian fare like grilled veggie sandwiches and hummus pizza are perfect and satisfying for dinner. The carnivores among us appreciate the pleasing chicken, steak and seafood entrees. Homemade desserts vary from day to day, though tiramisu, triffles and chocolate pie are popular.

Nice vegy sandwiches

by vegy_reg

We enjoyed the portobella hummus sandwich, it was really delicious. Lots of mushroom, melted cheese, and really great hummus.

We also had the eggplant sandwich. Personally, I think the slices should have been a lot thinner, but the overall flavor was nice! They were out of the tempeh sandwich or we would have had that as well.

The service was slow, so don't be in a hurry, but when they did show up, they were very nice and helpful.

The place is a bit dirty feeling, but it has a lot of character and I'd definitely go back next year (CEDIA)

  • Pros: Great vegy food, Prices fair ($7.50), Variety
  • Cons: Slow service, no parking, a bit dirty

Vegetarian Delight!

by randyl712

The breakfast menu is amazing - lots of vegetarian-friendly items, that come with HUGE portions and the prices are incredibly reasonable. Example: The sourdough French Toast made with vanilla custard (mmmmmmm) was like $4-5 and came with about 8 slices of toast and a bowl of sliced fruit. The vanilla cinnamon oatmeal with brown sugar costs only $3 but they give you more then TWO could ever eat... It's a real value for breakfast. We both left lots on our plate, were VERY happy with the meal, and the cost was only $14! That's pretty rare these days.

  • Pros: Breakfast Food, Breakfast Prices, Breakfast Portions
  • Cons: Asmospehere is dingy, Lunch/Dinner more $$$
