My son and I visited 2 weeks ago for his spring break. We found the museum overall to be great fun. However there were a few drawbacks. We had to park in a sketchy area and I think the security guard in a van was asleep. I was very uneasy about this, but made it to the musuem quickly and safely. Our favorite exhibits were Jane Goodall and the Japan gallery. We made it into dinosphere, it was fun for about five minutes then my son lost interest. Other than the parking and crowd it was a good experience.
- Pros: Clean, Educational, Carousel
- Cons: Parking/Parking Staff, High food prices, Crowded
AWESOME!!!

We had a girl's weekend in Indianapolis. We took the 5 & 9 yr old. It was great and even us adults had a good time. The group interactions were great. The haunted house was worth the $6.50. The only con would be at the haunted house. There was a recorded voice for the scary haunted house. It said "flight 666 is now boarding", I thought that was crossing the line. But besides, it was great
- Pros: Very fun, friendly and enticing.
- Cons: None!
Best in the country!

I am a 24 year old woman who has been to many children's museum in her life (having been a child not that long ago). This is the best! My grandparents live in Indy and took us there every time we came to visit them since I was 3. In fact, my husband and I recently visited without children and still had a great time! They do an excellent job of remembering the past while embracing the future. Some exhibits have never changed, while the technology and science areas keep expanding and improving. I have a picture of myself in the Indy Race Car at every age! It just keeps getting better, I can't wait to take my own children someday!
- Pros: Fair pricing, food court inside, unique local exhibits
- Cons: area of town
One of the world's largest museums for kids insists its young guests touch everything, from bones to stones to catacombs.

Overview
Kids and adults can explore hands-on exhibits designed to educate. There's a lot to see-it's one of the largest children's museums in the world--so plan to spend an entire day at this kids' wonderland. There are five floors and ten galleries to explore in addition to the outdoor garden gallery.
The Experience
Build your own drum, explore the interactive "Wall of Junk," dig through the dirt worm-style. Kids can dig up dinosaur bones, scale rock walls and see a mummy's tomb (with a real mummy inside). They can also explore the solar system in the planetarium or catch a show at the only theater in Indianapolis for kids. Playscape is a room made for children under six. Join in the fun at the water table, the sand dome or the construction site.
Not exactly something Free

I found this on What's Free....The children's museum is not FREE but It is a good value and very nice. :) I just don't want people to be mislead by this message thing saying it is a free attraction it is not free, but parking is. :) They have a cinedome and a planitarium. Lots for kids to do of all ages including adults.
- Pros: something 4 all ages, hands on exhibits, variety of restaurant
- Cons: Cost if you have, a lot of children in, your family not cheap
So Cool, Mom!

I took my children, ages 2 and 6, to the museum two weeks ago. It was wonderful! Parking was free and close to the museum. There was a food court right there in the museum(without inflated prices!!) We spent over five hours there and didn't get through it all. The kids keep asking when we can go back. Everything was so hands on, it was wonderful! Both of my kids got to sing on stage, put on a puppet show, dress up like the Three Bears, sit in an Indy car, dig for dinosaur bones, and much, much more!! I would highly recommend this museum to anyone with or without children.
- Pros: Easy to get there, Great prices, Something for everyon
- Cons: Not open every day

Family Fun

Fun for the whole family, no matter how young or old! The last time I was there I was 17 and learned many things and was having a great time. In the winter months they have a giant "sledding" slide, what fun! There is an IMax theater with great movies. Features change frequently, so visit often. Enjoy spending the day with your family!
- Pros: good parking, fun for all

My daughter, age 19, and I, age 21 with 30 years experience, were at the museum just a few weeks ago, and it was just as much fun then as it was when we first started going there when she was four.

The Indianapolis Childrens Museum id a joy for all ages formt he youngest child to the oldest adult. Every floor has interactive stations that parents can enjoy withtheri children. The giatn slide at christmas is the greatest. The lily theater is always coming up with new plays that the kids love and the prents enjoy. The water activites are great and the carousel is takes you back into time. The local library branch called info zome is also a great added perk!
