A great place to come by for breakfast or lunch, especially on the weekends when you have time to sit outside and take your time. A huge selection of sandwiches, breads, soup, salads. Their chicken salad is fresh, chunky, and yummy. They also offer a full array of beautiful bakery goods (go for the iced sugar cookies) and fresh bread. Crowded on weekends.
- Pros: Fresh food, Portions, Bakery
- Cons: Crowded

We like this place a lot. You can grab lunch from the pre-made sandwiches, get coffee or a sit-dwn meal as well as catering.
The food here is really great and we especially appreciate how helpful the staff is in catering a party. They will help design a menu, put together platters of delicious food, & they deliver. The desserts are superb!

This restaurant is absolutely wonderful. You order at the counter from the menu hanging from the ceiling offering everything from pancakes and omlettes to egg sandwiches, then you pay and find a seat where your food will be brought to you in under ten minutes. Everything is delicious including everything in the pastry case. Pastries, cakes and side dishes as well as breads and bagels are available for take out as well.

I love to go to the Food Emporium and sit with a cup of coffee and an alligator. Or a chocolate chip scone. Or a lemon muffin...
They have cafe seating which is heavenly in the summer, but also they give you a free cup of coffee on days it snows. A whirling desert case to die for, and healthy, made to order entrees.
Delightful North Side deli that is serious about sandwiches.

The Scene
The cramped confines of this charming North Side bakery and deli are often filled with hungry diners digging into freshly made sandwiches and desserts. A sandwich board is filled with dozens of appealing choices--a spinning dessert cart loaded with sweet delights and a selection of sides can be a bit overwhelming when trying to place your order at the busy front counter.
The Food
Grilled or served cold; on a croissant or between two slices of homemade bread: Sandwich options are only limited by your imagination. The specialty sub is a cafe favorite--and for good reason, as salami, bologna and provolone cheese are covered with all the fixings and stuffed inside a soft hoagie bun. Savory salads are equally impressive; freshly cut lettuce is transformed into creative mixtures like the spicy taco salad or the veggie-friendly cauliflower salad. Live your chocolate fantasy with an oversized slice of the rich, double-layered chocolate cake.
