Great Atmosphere with lovely staff
by kellywiegand at Citysearch
I found that Studio 2000 has the the most caring, respectful, and talented staff of any salon I have ever visited. I recommend it to everyone.
- Pros: Exceptional service, Fantastic people, Amazing atmosphere
- Cons: parking
Lousy hair cuts
by hoosier506 at Citysearch
A few years ago, I had an OK haircutter at Studio 2000. The location was good and the studio is airy and pleasant. After that haircutter left, I tried other hair stylists there--and the cuts were *awful*. Someone else already warned against Edward in these reviews, I will as well! He gave me a terrible cut. Then, I had a young woman cut my hair who did a worse job than a 4 year old with blunt scissors. Plus, the fees were very expensive. Bottom line, avoid Studio 2000....
- Pros: Nice location
- Cons: Terrible haircuts very expensive
Fabulous!

Studio 2000 has always been a great experience. Since November the salon has had a serious makeover. The change seems to have brought nothing but positives to the staff and clients. I also visit and have visited Christina for quite sometime and she has done a a fantastic job on my very difficult hair. I also LOVE the product line, Brocoto and Davines (sp?) have changed my life. :) I highly recommend Studio 2000 to anyone who likes quality and embraces change.
- Pros: Innovative staff and salon, great products!
- Cons: parking requires a walk, but it's not horrible!
Studio 2000 & Christina GREAT
by IndymomShelly at Citysearch
I have been going to Studio 2000 for almost a year now and have had nothing but positive experiences. Christina has cut my hair since I started going there and she is terrific! She always listens to what I want and makes suggestions on what she thinks would look good. In my experiences, Christina has always been very attentive and I would highly recommend her and the salon. Not every salon or every stylist is right for everyone, you've got to find a good fit.
The front desk staff have always been friendly and polite.
Parking is no big deal if you don't mind a short walk. . .park at Circle Center and walk!
- Pros: Friendly, excellent service
- Cons: Parking, but that isn't that big a deal
Will look for a better salon

I'm a young woman who knows how I like to have my hair done, come in with plenty of pictures, and plenty of specific directions for what I want done, and what I don't want. I had been going to the same stylist for 3-4 years over which time we had developed a trust and familiarity that he knows what works for me and what I like, and I can give him vague limitations but otherwise trust his judgement and give him full artistic & creative liscence. He was the best. But I had to leave my favorite stylist when I moved to Indy for work reasons, and so far I haven't been able to find a new stylist that comes even close.
I've been to Studio 2000 twice for a hair cut. Both times, the experience has been "meh". Not horrible, but nothing to rave about. When making my very first appointment, I specifically asked for someone who is good at styling thick hair, someone skilled with long layers and textured cuts and went with their recommendation (I believe her name was Christina). I also got an all-over color the first time. The first visit was okay. The stylist and staff were polite, but not really cordial or friendly. I wasn't excited/thrilled with the cut but it was satisfactory enough to give them a second try. The second time with the same stylist was more disappointing. The cut was heavy and bulky, and during my appointment I felt rather neglected (and the salon wasn't even busy). The stylist seemed disinterested in the work at hand, and barely cracked a smile. I don't recall her asking even if I was happy with my hair afterwards.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend this salon. The interior is nice, but staff seemed disinterested and lacked enthusiasm, and the hair-styling was mediocre and nothing to rave about. I will be going to a different salon next time.
- Pros: Nice interior
- Cons: Disinterested staff, lack of enthusiasm, mediocre hair-styling, downtown parking
A wonderful experience!

This salon is worth the trip from Carmel any day. The stylist I normally go to flaked out on me for the 100th time, so I decided to try Studio 2000. I can't explain how refreshing it is to have someone actually listen to my needs and desires! I wanted a style I could work with easily and color that was close to my natural (from 20 years ago) color. Not only did she listen, but made great suggestions on how to style the cut for several different looks when I did it at home. She sent me off with products that extend the life of the color so I could go six weeks before the next appointment. I have had so many positive comments on this new look!! It seems that they all have a friendly attitude in a real cool location. You usually don't find that welcome feeling up north, I know. Great cut, great color, great attitude. Five stars from me!
- Pros: Talent, listening skills, professional staff
- Cons: Valet parking $12 + tip
Great Salon - Avoid Edward!!!
by enslenal at Citysearch
This Salon is fabulous with friendly owners and staff. I went there for 3 years in college with such wonderful results that I referred my friends, cousins, mom, and aunts. However, this week a friend of mine went in for a regular highlight with her usual stylist Edward and came out with her hair completely wrecked until it grows out... up to 5 years! While little color mistakes can sometimes happen, he turned her head neon pink. Then when it was clear a mistake has been made, Edward got in her face and made nasty remarks blaming her (?!?) before proceeding to bleach her hair 3 times to the point where it was white with hot pink streaks. Finally, after damaging her hair so badly that he warned her not to comb it for fear of breaking it off, he dyed it a shade of dark brown when it had been blonde! All the while trying to send her home without fixing it. I cannot recommend this salon enough and the other stylists are wonderful but you better think twice before letting Edward near your head!
Mixed experiences

I've been to Studio 2000 twice. The first time was in June 2007 -- my boyfriend made an appointment for a manicure/pedicure for me before Zoobilation. My experience was FABULOUS! The best pedicure I've ever had -- I felt like I had been totally pampered. I received a gift certificate from my work and decided to use it at Studio 2000 when I came back in December 2007. I was so looking forward to the experience. Come to find out, the woman I had before had left, so they assigned me to someone else. Long story, short -- this other lady was far more interested in telling me her love-life woes instead of working on me. I'm sorry, but when I'm spending the money (and my certificate barely covered half of my bill) to be pampered, I don't want to hear other's woes -- I want to relax (and talk about my own stuff, if I so desire). And to add salt to the wound, I was very unhappy with the finished product. So, my experience with Studio 2000 went from a 5 to a 1.... so I'll give it an over all 3... I could use another pedicure at the moment, but am a bit hesitant to go back there....
Cozy Comfy People

I have worked in Indianapolis for 14 years now, on all sides of town and have experienced different salons. Studio 2000 has been my absolute favorite one. When I first started going there I went to Kelly (skinny thing) she was great, young and energetic. Then I latched onto Gwynn and she was and still is great. I went thru a period where this was the only salon and then in the midst of kids and finances I went to going every now and then. But I always know that when I want an awesome haircut and someone to listen, I can always count on Studio 2000. I am not afraid or nervous to go to anyone there. I am sure that everyone will take great care of me. I have referred many people. As far as the spa part of it. Absolutely fabulous. I have had rock massage, facials, maternity massage, pedicure and manicure with parrafin. I felt like a queen the entire time and totally comfortable.
- Pros: Convenient to do on my lunch hour

Primp up in the city's only salon with historic art deco.
Best salon in the midwest.

I can't say enough great things about this salon. They accomodate my hectic and changing schedule with a smile, even when I am late. Reminder calls help me be there on time and everyone who has cut my hair is a true professional. Several of the stylists have remarked that it is a great place to work and it shows. Most of the girls that work there are very hot, but not stuck up or snooty to a dork like me and actually made me look better than I ever have. I know cause people have remarked about how good I look. I have had one massage there and all I can say is WOW! My bad experiences at other salons make me a beliver in Studio 2000.
- Pros: Awesome in every way
- Cons: parking during Pacer games
