Not the real enchilada
by dahender at Citysearch
Take this review with a grain of salt. I am originally from Texas and I cant claim knowing true authentic Mexican food Joe's is not.
After reading how Joe illegal crossed the border and built a respectable business for himself (back menu) I was ready to eat. The food was prepared in an appetizing fashion, but was drenched in chili and cheese. I highly recommend the enchiladas and soft tacos.
The vinegar-based sauce was quite interesting and fit nicely with the tacos and any salad (shake well). However the salsa had the consistency of a thick ketchup and lacked chopped peppers, tomatoes and chilies. It is essential for proper dipping consistency.
The chips were not crispy or salt encrusted .
Joe's does provide a wide array of food satisfying any crowd. I am definitely going back for margaritas (specials on Tues.&Fr.) and the cashier is kind of cute.
- Pros: Service, Cheese, Prices
- Cons: , Chips, Music
Great Margaritas but....
by rondrei at Citysearch
The margaritas were very good but I would suggest not looking around too much and just concentrate on the food and drinks. Certainley a laid back atmosphere but a good cleaning and a paint job would help.
- Pros: inexpensive, great margaritas
- Cons: , smoky
Excellent Guacamole
by laurag16 at Citysearch
Acapulco's guacamole is the most mouthwatering, and can't be passed up. With the delicious garlic and ripe avacados, this is sure one to please. Enjoy!!!
- Pros: quality food
- Cons: crowded, bad parking
