This is not Mexican food
by omgpleez at Citysearch
I don't know what everyone raves about. This place is dirtly, the service is horrible and the food, well I don't even consider it Mexican food. I definitely won't be recommending this place to anyone.
- Pros: none
- Cons: everything
Major disappointment
by JenInIndy at Citysearch
I have been here twice - both times with high expectations. I kept hearing how fabulous the food was - both lunch/dinner and their biscuits and gravy for breakfast. So, I tried both types of meals. The lunch food was below average - just a step above Taco Bell. The breakfast was such a disappointment. The gravy was good, but the biscuits were doughy and undercooked. The coffee that was initially brought to our table was stone cold and we waited at least five minutes to get someone's attention to let the know. Apparently the switch that was supposed to remain on overnight was turned off. To top things off, the place smelled musty and the bathrooms were filthy. Needless to say, I will never go back.
- Pros: Reasonably priced, convenienct downtown location
- Cons: Sub-par food; mediocre service, and dirty facilities
Good authentic Mexican???
by puckboy at Citysearch
Stale chips and sqeezable salsa that tastes like ketchup with a little heat. Only 5 or 6 items on the lunch menu. El Rodeo or Cancun is much better for half the price. Service is fair at best.
- Pros: Location
- Cons: Price, quality of food, parking
I Don't Get It
by hippiechick1975 at Citysearch
This restaurant is touted as one of the best Mexican restaurants in Indy, which utterly baffles me. We waited outside in line (on our lunch hour) for 15 minutes, the food was awful, and our server was very inattentive. This was actually my second visit. I had a similar experience on my first visit, which I had previously chalked up as a fluke because so many people rave about how wonderful Joe's is.
Don't waste your time. It's all hype. You're better off at Taco Bell.
- Pros: Location
- Cons: Terrible service, awful food

Not really Mexican!
by abuzzard at Citysearch
The salsa is more like bar-b-q sauce. The music is loud and obnoxious. Only good thing about it is the location.
- Pros: location
- Cons: Salsa, food
