Doesn't disappoint!!

Undeniably our most favorite Indy area restaurant! We have now dined there a total of 4 times, all of them this year, and have varied our selections on each visit. ALL have not only been tasty , they have been outstanding!!! We have had a different type of fish each visit. The crab cakes, in particular, are a must. Be prepared to either eat heartily or to take home leftovers. They are MORE than generous in their servings.( Perhaps this is why my waistline is expanding?) All dishes are VERY well seasoned. Okay, the owners are NOT from New Orleans, they've only visited, but they capture the essence of that area's offerings well in our opinion., and my husband is a native of New Orleans! We are non-smokers so we were a little concerned we'd suffer indoors from the odor of cigarettes now that outside seating is no longer possible but on our last visit, we sat upstairs and SAW smokers but didn't detect the odor. This IS a "distillery" though so be forewarned. At peak weekend hours, maybe it would be pretty smoky. All I can say is this place is soooooo worth it! Service is normally prompt and pleasant but unintrusive. Go!!!!

I have always enjoyed a trip to The Big Easy. It was a no brainer that once I found the Bourbon St Distillery that I would become a regular there. I find myself there often. Although every restaurant has it's off days in terms of both food and service, my experiences at Bourbon St have always been good ones. To really get the taste of N.O. I will sometimes order just the red beans and rice and tell them to spice it up a bit. That said, the burgers for lunch will leave you satisfied and probably catching a nap at your desk later on in the day lol. And as a side note, if anyone is a fan of New Orleans, are you watching the HBO series called Treme? great show about a special section of the city that takes place 3 months after the storm. Very rich and flavorful...just like this restaurant :)
NO DOUBT

This place hits it out of the park - small understated restaurant that serves really good food.
Visit once and NO DOUBT you'll be back for seconds...NO DOUBT.
- Pros: Buffalo Chicken Sandwich with Makers Mark or a Baileys
Stick to the burgers

I've always enjoyed a burger at this establishment. I decided one night to come have dinner. I deviated from my Angus Burger selection and has a smothered blackened steak and my wife had the crab cakes.
The kitchen forgot to smother the steak with onions, peppers and mushrooms as described on the menu (the server didn't catch it either). The steak was also baely cooked (I asked for medium rare). Maybe we're spoiled from having lived in Maryland, but the crab cake was more cake and less crab.
I brought most of the steak home and cooked it the next day (then it wasn't too bad). Even my dogs wouldn't eat the crab cakes.
- Pros: Angus Burgers
- Cons: Dinner Food, Service, Attention to detail
Always a good meal.

I visit the Distillery often for lunch, and usually partake in one of their lunch specials, which vary from day to day. These are usually items not found on the regular menu, and also featured for a reasonable price ($6.95 - $7.95).
The food quality is exceptional. My favorite is the BBQ pork chop, usually served with red beans and rice, and garlic bread. The pork chop is among the most generous you will encounter and especially thick!
The service, although generally VERY good, I have found to be a bit variable. Occasionally I'll get a server who is not quite on top of what the specials are, or who is not generally concerned with attending to the table. This has been rare, however, and I must say that it is the extreme exception to the normal very good service.
- Pros: Exceptional Food, Outdoor Dining, Great Value
- Cons: Service is variable
