Stout's, . . still a great fit.
I had the privelage of taking my teenage daughter to a shoe store that I remember going to as a kid when I lived in Indianapolis. We were back in town visiting friends and she agreed to go to Stout's Shoes with me to look at the old store and to help me pick out some shoes. I figured since she was 'hip and trendy', being a modern day teenager and all, then she may be able to help old dad acheive a level of coolness with just the right pair of shoes. I was greated by a girl named Khija, who actually is the manager of the downtown store, and was treated to some of the best service I have ever received in a retail environment. With a quick swipe of my VISA card and three pairs of shoes later, that happen to fit perfectly, my daughter was treated to the show that Stout's offers with their overhead basket system as my shoes were sent upstairs to be wrapped. After about five minutes my shoes returned wrapped with the same look that I remember as a kid.
My daughter then insisted that I come look at Ripley, the pet maccaw, that had grabbed her attention within the first two minutes we were in the store. After spending a few minutes with Ripley I told my daughter that I was treating her to lunch for helping me pick out my shoes and with a smile she said we could go but that next time we came to Stout's it would be her turn to get some shoes. She will actually be receiving a gift card from there that I purchased over the phone as an extra Christmas gift, after returning to our home in Nashville. I'm sure she will insist on making a trip to INDY and Stout's sometime after the new year.
