Editorial Review. Set sail at this classy, nautical-themed restaurant, serving a boatload of revolving seafood specials in a posh and lively atmosphere.
Food was not that good, and parking was impossible. I wont ever go their again, the parking was terrible, and the food for such an upscale restaurant was not that good, It was $85 i wish i saved.
SPECTACULAR!!. Every year for our anniversary, my husband and I pick a nice restaurant to visit. Last year we went to Emeril's Delmonico in Las Vegas. This year we picked the Oceanaire and we made a wonderful choice! We were a little early for our reservation and decided to have a couple drinks at the bar. I had the best apple martini!! When we were seated, we were promptly greeted by our server. He advised us of the portion sizes and that it would be a good idea to share. We ordered the shrimp cocktail which was excellent and then proceeded with the spinach salad with hot bacon dressing. They were both awesome!! I ordered the Maine stuffed lemon sole and my husband ordered the mahi mahi oscar. Not only was the food excellent but the ambiance and service were exceptional!! We absolutly had no room for dessert. It is a little pricey but well worth the cost for special occasions. I would recommend to anybody who enjoys great food, ambiance and service!!
Amazing crab cakes!!. The Oceannaire is very elegant and beautiful to look at, but the food is absolutely amazing!! One of my favorite things to get at seafood restaurants is crab cakes and theirs were out of this world. So, so delicious. It is expensive if you aren't used to spending this kind of money on a meal (I'm not), but for special occasions (we went there for Valentine's Day), this place is unbeatable!! I absolutely loved it.
Great Service and Food, phenomenal experience. Just moved from NYC and wanted to try a night out at a nice Indy restaurant. Was not dissapointed in any way. Reservations at 8pm, had wine at the bar and were seated at 8:15. Place was busy on a Saturday night; the service was prompt but relaxed and unhurried. Everything was fresh and tasted amazing. Started with some raw oysters and split a crabcake for appetizer. I had halibut "oscar" and girlfriend had tuna sashimi. Finished with creme brulee. Definitely one of the finest meals I've had in years, and just as good if not better than the finest restaurants in NYC. Will definitely return.
Incredible!. I went to The Oceanaire for the first time and had a wonderful experience. The waiters are very knowledgable about the menu and a great help. The wine selection was amazing. Everything was prepared great and we had prompt service. I enjoyed the atmosphere as well. I would recommend The Oceanaire to anyone who wanted a great dining experience. Keep in mind this is a pricey restaurant, but it is worth every penny.
GREAT GREAT GREAT. I had an amazing time! I dine out quite a bit but not downtown and my first experience at Oceanaire has me WOW'd. Downtown seems to be moving in the right direction. The food was great, wine was great (big pours) and our server had a clue as to what was going on. Yes, it was not a cheap dinner but it was worth it. I would rather pay and have a memorable experience vs. eating for less and regreting it. My $.02.
GOOD FOR POPCORN SHRIMP.
I am single so I dine out a lot so:
Extremely poor service waiter did not know what his menu.
Quality of food average for a so called great seafood restraurant there are better choices. For 75 dollars for lunch I expected more than the cheapes frozen POPCORN SHRIMP with lettuce....price nearly 10 dollars
They must think the customer is stupid.
Ambience is good so it has potential but there are easily better choices for seafood in INDY or Chicago
Magnificent. What a lovely restaurant! First of all, you walk in and are greeted by the beautiful art deco-ish decor in pleasing blues and silvers. The food is incredibly fresh and flown in daily so the selections may change. The seafood tower appetizer is scrumptious, including a whole lobster, oysters, shrimp, crablegs, etc. I prefer to choose my own fish and have it made how I like it rather than their preset entrees with their various sauces, which I find less tasty. Desserts are also top notch and big enough to share. Expensive but worth it for good seafood in Indy!
