I hired Dough Jesch to do a minor home remodel for a little over 18K. Everything started out smooth, I paid him 50% upfront. He had 75% of the project completed when he came to me stating he was "out of money" and needed the remaining funds. Out of good faith, I paid him the remaining 50% to finish the project which included replacing 13 interior doors, Hanging Trim in the Kitchen, and a little touch up paint here and there from the painting portion of the project.
He never finished the project, When I called him to inquire he stated again "He was out of money and had "Closed up shop", stating that he had filed bankruptcy and legally closed his business. I told him I needed him to finish the project and even offered to purchase the materials if he would just come out for a few days and take care of the labor since I had already paid him. He refused. This was a very disappointing experience from a man who claimed his faith was important to him. I was stuck paying for the last portion of the project twice. Again, this was an extremely disappointing experience.
