I would not hesitate to call myself a beef connoiseur, having tried many so called "#1" beef samiches that Chicago (and nearly every suburb) has to offer. I first tried a yummy's italian beef sometime around spring of '08. I was utterly blown away! The beef had an amazing taste, not overcooked, perfect italian rolls that soaked up all the juices, and great sweet/spice thanks to the right combination of peppers, vinegar and oil. I just returned from a trip to Chicago, and had even made plans to "taste test" several beefs while on my trip. In doing so, I ate two sandwiches at one very popular spot, mainly because I wanted to, and the beefs were smaller than i had expected. My tastebuds were not lying to me, Yummy's was superior. The beef, bread, peppers(giardiana, if u must) Everything...I was actually a little disappointed that Chi-town(THE ORIGINATOR OF ITALIAN BEEF) did not have a comparable product. I will keep sampling many more "#1's" to make a completely fair comparison. EAT YUMMY"S!! P.s.- I have had the yummy's beef at least once a week while taking up residence in Indy (Jan '08-Aug '09) No joke
best place for Gyro.
Been in Marine Corps based in California for years. Never did i expect to enjoy a Yummy gyro in Indiana. Several years and Gyro's later the Lamb was incredible and i smiled with every bite. My Girlfriend took me here for the first time and was pleased to show me some of the best things in life. Keep up the good work!!
About the dining. it doesnt have a warm feeling to enjoy the meal, feels like a hurry up and leave setting. thanks will be seeing you all again this week
Best Gyro's. The other review posted can not be for Yummy's. You can get a gyro, fries and drink for under $6 at Yummy's. They have great Gyros. Haven't tried much of the other food as the Gyro's are the main attraction for me. The portions are good size for the price. Would recommend this place highly if you enjoy a good Gyro.
Quality has gone downhill, and prices up!. Been going here for a number of years now. Used to be pleased with the food, even if it was not that greatest DIm Sum. This is acceptable for Indy where there are no other options for dim sum. Unfortunately the prices have skyrocketed. I used to eat with another person and the billl woudl be no more than $22, for some reason, the same meal now costs close to or over $30. This is not how much a sun morning dum sum meal for 2 should cost. You should walk out of a dim sum meal feeling satisfied with the porportions, and spend no more than $25 WITH tip included. Now we are spending $35 with tip (and no we are not big eaters) and the food quality has fallen. Service is always ok, except from the owner who is usually cold to customers, even though we have been going for years now.
