She has Closed Shop!!!. I am looking for more brides out there. Justice needs to be served to Debbie or Debra who ever she wants to be called. My dress was paid in full on 8/5/2009. Out of money and no dress.
this business should not still exist. I ordered a dress on January 31st and it had not arrived as of July 29th. I got the run around or my phone calls where not returned. I was told my dress would clear customs in May and arrive in June then I was told a different story every time I called the office. Supposedly she no longer does business with the maker of the dress but goes factory direct to save the customers money yeah I thinks she was only trying to save her self money. The day I went in for a refund I was told the dress should arrive on Thursday and my wedding in is 1wk and two days. The lady had the nerve to ask if I wanted her to call me when the dress came in. I said yeah sure she must be crazy if she thinks she deserves my money .DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME PLEASE BRIDES BEWARE AND DONT ORDER A WEDDING DRESS FRoM THIS LOCATION.
Dress Buyers BEWARE. Dress shoppers BEWARE. The owner is a scam artist. Not only did she rip me off (I never recieved the "custom" dress I ordered. The dress I did receive was 4 months late, thrown in a box, and shipped to me, but I believe it was a sample.) The dress was not what I ordered. The top didn't match the bottom and I would have to grow a foot and 1/2 for the length to be right. IDebra would not return my money and basically tried to blame me for the dress not being what I ordered (amazing). If you google the owner under her previous name (Debra Akinbiyi), you will see she has left brides and prom goers in tears. If you look up this business you will also see many reports against her. BEWARE
Dreams was no dream. If you ever come across this business RUN and run fast. The owner Debra is totally unprofessional and has no business etiquette. I ordered my bridesmaid dress in June 2008 for an out of state wedding in Sept. I asked for a "rush cut" which not only I never received but I never even got the dress that I paid for. I got the runaround starting in the middle of August. There was every excuse in the book. She tried to blame the manufacturer but I later learned that the dress was ready when promised but was not shipped due to an invoice not taken care of by Dreams. She then tried to blame UPS. She even tried to blame me which was crazy. Dreams would not even pay extra to have my dress sent express mail. The dress was scheduled for delivery on the the day I was flying out, so I called Debra from the airport and let her know that when the dress came in my husband would pick it up and he would fedex it to me to make sure I had it by 8 am and I would just have to take care of any alterations myself. She claimed that the dress was already dropped off and she sent it overnight to my out of state location which was a lie since when UPS arrived she was not there and she did not pick up the dress until the day before the wedding. By the time I got off my plane I was so upset I went to David's bridal and bought a back up dress. The lies just continued. I was forced to wear a different dress from the rest of the bridesmaids which was very disappointing. Now Dreams of Indy refuses to return my money. When I called to let her know I was going to take her to small claims court she said she was recording the conversation for the police. This woman is crazy. Once I started researching the business I found out there had been numberous complaints and judgements filed against her. Do not become a victim to a nightmare like I was!
Dreams of Indy is a nightmare.
I purchased a wedding dress at Dreams of Indy Jan 18 for my daughter whose wedding was in July.. The dress was display sample and had dirty spots on it and was 2 sizes to big Deborah said it could be altered to fit and she said she would have it cleaned. After I purchased it 2 Seamstress told me it would take away from the beauty of the dress to have it altered that much. She would not give me a refund. I told her to clean it and maybe I could sell it on the internet, if not we would have to get it altered and wear it anyway. I took it to her Feb 2nd to be cleaned she said it would be back Feb 14. After numerous times of calling going t the shop and being told by Deborah one excuse after another why the dress was never there. Like it was in her basement and she did not have the key, it was still at the cleaners and she forgot which cleaners she took it to and I stood there while she called 3 different cleaners to find it. I contacted the Better busines bureau they said they have had other complaints against them, so we figureed we would never see the dress. March 25th she said they would deliver it to my house. No one ever came or called untill May 8th and said they found the dress and the cleaners had lost it! I told her to keep it because it was to late now I had to buy another dress. I filed a complaint with small claims court she finally showed up for court the 3rd time and told the judge I never came to pick up the dress it had been sitting in her store since march.
All those stories she told me she denied ever saying! The judge being a man and not realizing how long it takes to order a dress ruled in her favor and did not see why I didn't just wait for the dress. If a cleaners has your dress over 3 months you can't guarantee you are going to get the dress back in time for alterations. She also told me someone wanted to buy it for $1500 if that were true why wouldn't she have sold it and gave me my $700.00 back? Our "Dreams of Indy"were a nightmare!
