Do not EVER buy a gift certificate!. Never buy a gift card! My friend bought me one for $140 and I went to use it less than 30 days from when it "expired." I guess it expired one year from the day purchased, although Congress enacted a law (the credit card act of 2009 which states a gift certificate issued after AUgust 22, 2010 can not expire for 5 years). When questioning the owner she stated, "if she made an exception for me, she would have to for others." Exactly, she should, they pre paid you for a service! Are you kidding me, so you take someones money, provide no service,and call that fair? Please keep in mind she still made me pay the price of my haircut, and has not since returned my phone calls!
