Terrible experience!!. We had been to Augustino's a couple of times before and had an ok experience. This time was much worse. Food is over-priced. Decor is unappealing. Our server was very unprofessional. She asked my husband to hand me my drink instead of coming to the other side of the table to hand it to me herself. You pay a server to serve, right? Gave us extremely hot plates without any warning of them being hot. Both my husband and I had vegetable lasagna which was very cold in the center. When we asked to have the lasagna heated up, because it was cold, we received no apology...and waited about 15 minutes for the old lasagna to be returned. The waitress took our check from us before we had even left the restaurant...and it wasn't busy. My husband has had food poisoning-like symptoms all night. Will not return!
Great food -Great service -reasonable price.
While on business in Southern Indianapolis, I stumbled on this place driving around the area looking for someplace different to eat. Jackpot! If you like Italian food, this place is a "must try!" The restaurant is on the end of a strip plaza. It is tastefully decorated inside, yet comfortable. The menu is not overly extensive but most of the staples are there with a few unique offerings as well. My waitress Melissa was quick to the table and very helpful. After explaining the different sauces on the menu, she brought a sample of the red sauce with fresh baked Italian crusty bread and butter. The sauce was excellent and a little on the sweet side. Perfect for this reviewer! I decided on the Rigatoni with Meatballs and red Sauce. I also wanted to try the Italian Sausage so Melissa had the chef add some to the dish. I also ordered a cup of the italian Wedding soup to start. the soup was very good, rivalling the Wedding soup I have had in more Italian influenced areas of the country. I would order this again. The Rigatoni with meatballs and sausage came out baked with Mozz/Prov/Parm cheese blend on top. the portion was large and overall outstanding in taste! the meatballs were very tender and flavorful. the sausage was slightly spicy and equally tasty. There was enough left for a great lunch the next day.
I will definitely be back to Augustinos on my next visit. The food and the service were outstanding. And all for under $20.00. I saw shere they offer a Sunday Brunch as well with additional items not on the daily menu. If I lived in Indy....I would be at Augustino's this Sunday!

Great Italian Food!. I heard about this restaurant in an Indystar article, so I decided to try it out. The decor of the restaurant was relaxed and inviting. Our server was very personable and did a great job explaining the dishes to us. It seemed like the focus is spend on making great downhome Italian food, and boy do they excel at it! We started off with calamari and a bottle of wine. My husband had the spaghetti with their famous #1 meatballs, and I had a personalized chef-made special- which turned out to be a pepper-crusted tuna steak served atop a bed of gnocci. Both meals were melt in your mouth delicious! The Chef/owner even came out to check on our table to see how we liked the food. Seems like they really care about making your dining experience enjoyable. The Tiramisu and cheesecake for dessert were amazing as well. I would definitely recommend this place and return again soon! YUM!
