Fantastic!. What a refreshing experience! After a couple of terrible recent experiences at other salons, I was beginning to lose hope that I would ever get a decent haircut/color ever again. I saw several positive reviews online and figured I'd give it a try. So very thrilled that I did! I was scheduled with the owner Danita for a cut and color. She is wonderful! So nice and really listened to my concerns. Also, very knowledgeable and yet so easy to talk to. She spent a good amount of time on the consult so she could get a good idea of what I really wanted. What a change from some other salons. She worked her magic and both fixed my color issue and previous bad haircut. I was amazed at the result! My hair looked fabulous and she made it such a positive and relaxing experience. The salon is beautiful and the staff is very friendly. What a relief not having to deal with pretentiousness that permeates so many of the salons in the city. I can't wait to go back! I have found a new home for my hair.

Very accommodating, quality products, excellent salon!. I have been a client for almost a year now and I wouldn't consider going anywhere else. I get my hair cut and colored by Danita and she is phenomenal. I am very shy and quiet by nature but she is so friendly that I feel like I am just talking with a friend.

Salon- The salon itself is quite pretty- open and airy with hardwood floors.. You can tell this is an upscale salon but it doesn't have that upscale snobby feel. The minute you enter you are offered a drink and made to feel at home. This is great for people like me who feel intimidated by salons and spas. The movies on the tv are a nice touch for those times you are getting your hair colored or just don't feel like chatting. The magazine selection is top notch. I have found them to be very accommodating when it comes to making an appointment- they opened early one time for me which was just AWESOME and a great example of customer service.

Cut and color- Danita really listens to what you have to say and actually takes your face shape and styling limitations into consideration when discussing a style with you. My hair is very thick and wavy and can be very hard to style if it isn't cut just so but she always makes my hair look fantastic and the cut lasts forever! I have a pretty busy life so I don't want to spend a lot of time on my hair and she takes that knowledge into account when she cuts my hair. The last time she cut my hair (graduated bob that just looked awesome) I received a ton of compliments. What an ego boost! I also have a very sensitive scalp and when I would get my hair colored at other salons my scalp would be very irritated, almost burned. The color is very rich and quite natural, which means a lot for a graying 35 year old woman.

This studio is a bit pricy but I really feel you get what you pay for here. You don't have to worry about the cut or color looking raggedy after 6 weeks which is a plus in these economic times. Give this place a shot, you will be glad you did.…

Danita is amazing!. I went to Danita for the first time this morning and was blown away! The salon is beautiful and modern and everyone there was super sweet. She asked me what I wanted to do but I told her to do what needed to be done since my hair was in such bad shape. She went straight to it and it came out HOT! My boyfriend tackled me when I got home ;-) I have an appointment for a color next week, I can't wait!

SUPERB COLOR AT LAST!. After several years of searching for a talented colorist (including a couple of tries at a famous Broad Ripple color/salon) I went to see Danita. She listened to my desires & budget concerns (dang economy!) and delivered results that exceeded my expectations. She is both an artist and a perfectionist so each time I leave, my hair and [stubborn] eye brows are a wow! I get compliments on my hair color... something I never experienced before. I am so happy to find such an artist!

Best Blonde Highlights I Ever Had. I found this salon while I was searching for Kerastase hair products. I was not even calling for an appointment - I only wanted shampoo, however, I enjoyed speaking with the owner (Danita) so much, that when she inadvertently asked me if I was thrilled with my hair color and hair stylist - who I have been with for over 6 years - it made me think...I could NOT honestly answer 'yes'. The last few times I was at my old salon, things were different and my old stylist's work was not up to par. So I figured if she carried Kerastase products and had such a pleasant, direct, self-assured owner personally answering the phone, I would give them a chance. I checked out the web site and it was great - I got a good feel for who the staff are and what the place was like and decided it was a salon I would enjoy trying, so I booked my appointment (I did have to wait 3 weeks to get a Saturday appointment). THE REASON FOR THIS REVIEW: As soon as I walked in the door, I was overwhelmed with the decor of the place - very eclectic and reminded me of home. They were playing SiriusXM Alt Nation (my fav) and I was greeted by Danita. The assistant immediately welcomed me and offered me a beverage. I was given a clean gown to change into and led into the bathroom/changing room - very nice and CLEAN. I did make myself a cup of coffee and grab a magazine and I was enjoying watching the stylists work. It is so rare these days to see a group work together and get along so well - everyone was friendly and the place just had such a positive vibe going on.. I enjoyed being there and I felt like I was part of something. Needless to say that when all was said & done and the foils were removed and I was rinsed out, my hair was AWESOME - it came out better than I could have hoped for and I felt great. If I had felt this good after walking out of my old salon I would still be a client. Had it not been for how direct, courteous and knowledgeable Danita was on my initial phone call this would have never happened - it just goes to show that you never know how things will work out.. Just a great place for hair color, highlights, and good coffee and music. And, I received no less than 4 compliments that afternoon while I was out doing errands :-).

Top Notch Hair Salon. I have always been very choosy when it comes to hair care and don’t just walk-in to any random hair salon unless I've done my research and read through reviews/testimonials about the place. And this salon I could definitely say is worth going to because Danita’s team of experts will really take care of your hair.

I had my hair straightened and colored and I am beyond satisfied with the result. It’s been 4months now and my hair still straight and smooth. And today I'm coming back to get a haircut and color. So to anyone who's new to the area, like me who's very skeptical about where to go, you’ll never regret trying out Danita’s salon - the Best in Indy!

Experience This!. Just had another fabulous experience at White the Art of Hair... and had to share!

I'm a "regular" and look forward to each month's appointment because I know that when I walk out, I'll feel great about my hair, both how it looks and how healthy it's become since Danita has taken care of it.

Danita has taken her profession to another level of expertise with the way she does Hair Dreams hair extensions, color application, and cut. And, I get all of these :-)

But what makes it special is that at each appointment, even though I've been her client for years, she always takes the time to ask what's working, what's not working, if I would like to see anything different... and then she makes it happen.

There seem to be so few services these days that deliver what they say they will. Danita, thank you for always making "getting my hair done" an experience that I look forward to!

Best Salon in Indy. Fantastic from start to finish! Danita did a quick assessment of my hair and described, step-by-step, what she had in mind. I gave her free reign to cut my hair as she pleased. She kept with a more conservative cut, only trimming a few inches, and fixing my layers, but it made a huge difference! Also, my color was to die for!

They were very friendly and professional. I was constantly offered something to drink or a magazine to read.

While I was there I saw several men get their haircut and most seemed like regulars... which I'm inferring means that they love getting their hair cut there as well.

With out a doubt, best Salon in town. Run, don't walk to this place!!

Indy's #1 Salon. Over The Moon.........

I must let my secret out of the bag. I am originally from Los Angeles Ca. and I have been to a variety of different salons. White The Art of Hair, is the only place to go for hair. Danita White is an artist who takes her profession very seriously, (while having fun doing it). She is an expert colorist who uses top salon products while executing her highly skilled techniques. My very first experience with her was when she corrected a color mishap made by another stylist/salon here in Indy. She saved me and gave me a spectacular result.

Her styling/cutting techniques could easily be competitive against any top stylist in the country. After she cuts my hair she then texturizes it into a symphony of perfect, (so perfect I don't even have to wash it in the morning if I don't have time - hello!!!!). If you can't get an appointment with Danita she has an incredible staff who are equally as professional and skilled. I know they also offer top quality extension services, (I have not branched into that hair arena, but I have witnessed it being preformed). Also, the Kerastase product line that she uses on your hair will have you at hello! You can purchase them there as well, and thank goodness. I always make sure I have my Kerastase Slim which is a key product in the humid weather.

Beyond anything hair, (and all the other services and products the salon offers), the salon itself is a very relaxing environment. I am greeted each visit and offered a variety of beverages. I always look forward to going through the magazines, and catching up on some "me" time, (corny but true). There is also an area with a tall table and comfy chairs so customers can get work do on their laptops.

If you are looking for a new stylist, (which is often harder to find than a new gynecologist), or wanting something new with your color, White The Art of Hair is the only place to go. You won't be disappointed.
