This Gyro was the WORST!. I stopped here because I thought I haven't had a good gyro for a long time why not give this place a try...I still haven't had a good gyro! The cucumber sauce was plain yogurt with LARGE CHUNKS of cucumber! The bread was a pita POCKET..gee I can make better at home! the veggies are extra and the woman that waited on my coughed in her hands! nasty. This is a wannabe Greek not at all what I'm use too.

shwarma - it should have been a whole lot better. I ordered the shwarma which basically grilled meat in a pita with cucumber sauce . I specifically asked the server if it was good - i.e. better than than the gyro. It was just bad. It was more like grilled gristle. The cucumber sauce was fresh and tasty but why does a restaurant serve bad meat on an $8 sandwich? Indianapolis is rife with restaurants that for whatever reason refuse to toss bad items in the trash where it belongs, but instead they try to sell it.

Beef shawara! Where else can you find that.... My Lebanese best pal introduced me to Sam's. It's a great place to pick up a little Arabic (with a Lebanese accent, of course), and to get a quick, well-priced meal. My only qualm: too much lettuce & not enough goodies on the Greek salad!

Better than NYC's restaurant!. Sam's is the best gyro's restaurant I've eaten in Indianapolis. It's so flavorful and mouth watering. When I was in NY I thought that there's would taste better; it didn't. Plus, the price in Indpls is so much more reasonable. As a matter of fact, I'm on my way there now to pick up my lunch!!

great food, great service, good prices.. I always have good experiences when i eat at sams. The food is consistently good, fast and served with a smile. The menu can be a bit confusing to someone who isn't familiar with mediterranian food, but the waitstaff and cooks are more than happy to help with explanations and recommendations. The Shawarma is excellent and the gyros are the best i've had in Indy (the spicy gyro is the way to go). The biggest problem I have when I go in is deciding what to get because it all tastes so good. I almost don't want to to recommend Sam's because I consider it one of the great secrets of Indy.

Yummy Greek!. It is what it is. It's not fancy, but it's a GREAT place for a quick bite to eat. Value is excellent. A perfect place to take kids. I love the chicken shawarma. The hummus is delicious. Gyros are good.Staff has always been friendly. Has a great neighborhood feel. Skip the chains, Eat at Sam's!

Come for the hummus, stay for the gyro. I've never had a bad experience here, and always had friendly service and great food. The Hummus is to die for, and the gyros are juicy and come with a choice of sauces (tahini, cucumber and sour cream). The falafel is okay especially good with the tahini sauce.

Recommended for a cheap lunch or a quick dinner. The full portions will give you plenty to take home for soem good leftovers.

Amateur service, amateur food.. The food is acceptable but not particularly good compared to the other offerings in town, especially for the prices. Serivce is minimal and unprofessional--hours are unreliable and wait times for carryout can be longer than expected. The atmosphere is that of a hole-in-the wall gyro joint, but there's none of the care or personal attention that you might expect from a place that would seem to be so close to their work. I've gotten overcooked food, the same order delivered different ways, and sometimes the staff virtually ignore their customers. Not recommended unless you just have to have a gyro and there's nowhere else to go--maybe if you've been drinking a lot. And if they decided to stay open.
