5 stars!!!!!. I have been eating a Kona Jack's for a few years now and absolutely love it!! The atmosphere is very relaxing with all the fish tanks that surround you. The staff is very friendly and seems to love their jobs. They are very knowledgeable when it comes to the menu and suggesting their most desired dishes.

Some of the dishes that I have enjoyed would be the Chilean Sea Bass, Crunchy Grouper, Fish & Chips, and love the blackened fish taco (It's more like a burrito)!!! I love the Mexican Roll and Shrimp Tempura roll from the sushi menu! Calamari has to be the best in the Indianapolis area!!

I would totally suggest trying this restaurant out as well as Daddy Jack's and if you're in the mood for some live music after dinner head to Après Jacks!!!

Great decor and service!. Kona Jack's is a great place to eat on the north side of Indianapolis. I really enjoyed all of the fish tanks around the restaurant. I ordered the seabass. It was wonderful. Their key lime pie is out of this world. I thought the service was exceptional as well! I would recommend this place to anyone!

Best Grouper in Indy!. I had the best dinner at Kona Jacks. The crunchy grouper was so delicious. The service was great and the atmosphere was fun. Loved the fish tanks. The best part was after dinner we went next door to Apres Jacks to hear free live music. Great night all around.

BEST FRESH SEAFOOD IN TOWN!!!!!!. If you want to feel like you are on vacation and eating fresh fish right out of the ocean, you really need to eat at Kona Jack's!!! We started out with the cajun scallops which were exceptional, and the sushi grade Tuna was great blackened, recommended by our server Rose, who made my family's dining experience more than pleasant. She even brought out a piece of homemade Texas chocolate cake for my birthday which was complimentary! To end the evening's festivities, Rose recommended we go listen to the live music in Apres Jacks, and all we had to do was walk next door. Had a great birthday, and will be back soon!!

The best seafood in Indianapolis. Kona Jacks is the best seafood in town!! The menu offers many choices of 'fresh' fish and can be prepared just the way you like. My personal favorites are the Seabass with their chinese pesto marinade and the Florida grouper parmesan breaded, both are delicious!! You can also order from the fresh fish market to take home and prepare, they are very helpful on how to cook and sell their marinades. For your own little piece of Hawaii, Kona Jacks is a must!!

I I wish I could give it a 2.5 stars. (Seriously, Yelp....where are the halves?!?!) It's not quite "Meh" and it's not quite "A-OK". I don't hate it, but I don't love it. The fish taco was more like a fish burrito but was bland and unseasoned. It was HUGE too....not good huge, just inappropriately large. Unappealing-I would not recommend I may have to change my star rating to a 2~~~~~~~~~~~ Elite '11 Leigh S. Indianapolis, IN 2.0 star 11/23/2010 Stepping in, felt like a Disney ride with the kitschy ship .. rice was not prepared properly, overcooked and mushy lacked seasoning - like serving popcorn plain. peeled the fish off the rice and enjoyed some sashimi instead. entrees were non-descript - the grouper and ahi. ordered the ahi rare. It came with a thick coating of sesame seeds, overwhelming - sesame seeds has a bad texture. scraped off seeds, Not seared on both sides. lazy - dipping sauces overwhelming the fish. $24 slab of fish was inedible. Our waitress was standoffish She tended to disappear for long jaunts we were patient. buytheir fish and cook at home. EXPENSIVE! ~~~7reviews

excited about a fish market and sushi bar.... ordered Jack's Po Boy ($10) fried catfish with sauteed onions on a hoagie roll.... nothing spectacular. pilaf was salty.... 2 ordered the po boy with fries (SUPER SALTY) and the a rainbow roll...($13) The roll was covered in uni sauce obliterated the taste of the fish.... nothing spectacular. waiter was inattentive at best. Never refilled our water glasses or coffee mugs... we were polite.... He wasn't doing his job give Red Lobster a better rating at least they're friendly ~~~ Jemmie W. Carmel, IN 3.0 star 7/23/2010 sashimi combo, softshell crab roll, and another roll but- quality was unmemorable. softshell crab roll was salty. Note to management: You have soy sauce on the dining tables? The sashimi - average. It's difficult to mess up the preparation of sashimi for a business dinner. If you want real sushi, go to Sakura or Ichiban. ~~julia c.

decor 4stars(l salt water fish tanks). 1 star for the sushi. this has got to be the worst place to have sushi. the rolls were tiny and not even rolled properly. i was shocked at the price.. our bill for soft drinks; miso soup, and 4 rolls- $78. disappointing - Mar 3, 2010 Worst dining experience in Indy-the waitress conducted work with a bad attitude.- food took forever-- we ordered soups and sandwiches -lunch took an hour--- the waitress brought us the bill but lost our card- heard great things about Kona Jack's, - I'll not risk it. ~~-Aaron ‎ - Jan 1, 2010 heard nothing but Rave reviews --based on my experience- I would rank Kona Jacks with Long John Silver's (I would have preferred Red Lobster ) I enjoyed a Seafood dinner at Glenn's Diner in Chicago, IL. unlike Kona Jack's the seafood at Glenn's was skillfully prepared, wonderfully accented and pleasantly presented. -~~~~~~~~~Crissy ‎ - Mar 27, 2009 Terrible, would not go back! - for wannabe sushi -The people don't have a clue what real sushi tastes like. WORST and most expensive. our sushi rolls tasted like canned tuna - it was the best roll on the menu. If you want to eat sushi H20 in Broad Ripple, or Tegry Bistro on 86th street. ~~~~~~Rick ‎ - Mar 12, 2009 Disappointed we did not have a good experience. Our waiter -unknowledgeable. shrimp and fish were not special...especially for$$$. ~~~ amalgamation of reviews-This place stunk. in search of real seafood/ and real fish not dry fish that turns to paste . In the Caribbean, I could have fed 4 people at Kona Jack's prices Way too expensive for paste. Need to see cardiologist *sodium* sublime seafood? a tear will stream down your cheek

Valentine's Dinner was Great!. My husband and I have been to Kona Jack's before and this Valentine's Day dinner was just as great as all the previous visits. Other reviewer didn't think this restaurant is romantic, but I disagree. I wish all restaurants in Indy could have such a cozy feel and such pleasant waitstaff. Give it a try, you won't regret it!

A Definite Favorite. This place is our favorite for seafood, hands-down. I have been coming here, mostly for more special events, ever since I moved to Indy several years ago, and it is definitely at the top of our list of favorite places. I have never had a bad dish here- and I've tried most of the fresh fish entrees. My husband particularly likes the pan-fried Walleye Pike. I am a big fan of the grouper. Service is wonderful, professional but not fussy. Prices are reasonable, and you get a lot on one plate. Don't forget to try some sushi as well!

With fresh fish flown in daily, it's no wonder seafood lovers from all around drop anchor at this northside restaurant.. In Short
With enormous salt-water aquariums, starfish hanging from the walls and a menu that boasts menu items as red grouper, you'll have a hard time convincing yourself that you're not dining next to the ocean. A well-chosen list of wine separates Kona Jacks from the various chain seafood joints located throughout the city.
