grits were better than the meal.. i have never had a bad meal at a cracker barrel untill

last friday evening in shelbyville in. we were having a reunion of our sisters and decided to eat there. my sister and i ordered the open faced roast beef. there were 2 dry pieces of bread with a slice of beef on each slice. the beef did not taste all that great, had fat attached to it, no gravy. there was a small amount of gravy on the potatoes. my other sister ordered breakfast and i ate her grits. they were better than my meal. and, yes it was my fault because i didnt want to make a scene and complain. this will not stop me from going to craker barrell because of one bad meal.

Don't work there, they will treat you like a worthless piece of dirt. Cracker Barrel by far is the worst place to work. They treat you like absolute dirt. They won't give you any hours, they lie to you in the interview, they treat you like you are a shoplifter, you will NOT be able to get any insurance and benefits. They call you 24/7 because someone quit or didn't show up for their shift and they expect YOU to come in and cover it yet you will get absolutely NOTHING in return. If you're a server, the bus boys will steal your tips off the table and the managers will do nothing about it. They work you to death. The next time you go in there, you should ask someone out in the gift area about their hours. They'll tell you that Cracker Barrel's new policy is that no one will get an eight hour shift, they will only get a 4 hour shift. The cashiers will get wrote up and lose their hours if they don't sell 10 tins of mints/chewing gum per day. That's in my opinion not right and they can't do that. They have signs sitting everywhere stating that they are hiring and they have flexible scheduling, that's a lie they won't work with you at all, it also says that they will pay you well, they don't pay you what you are worth and when they cut your hours you get even less. Cracker Barrel is by far the absolute worst place to work and they treat their employees like dirt. Without the employees they wouldn't have a company, they would have nothing. I thought the mission statement was, "Pleasing people" and employees as well. I can assure you that i am not the least bit pleased at all. I never have been and from the looks of things I will never be.

DON'T FORGET CRACKER BARREL TREATS THEIR EMPLOYEES LIKE DIRT!!!!!

A little ole' country general store serving down-home foods and goods since 1969.. In Short
Originating in Lebanon Texas, this country store and restaurant has branched out all over the U.S. The décor includes old advertising signs, farm equipment, early kitchen appliances and photos which complement the country-style seating. Their menu includes home-style comfort foods like meatloaf and house-made mashed potatoes daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Make sure to stop into the gift shop for souvenirs and a variety of knick-knacks.

Good old home cooking.... I have never had one single bad experience at Cracker Barrel. The food has always been served properly, friendly, and at a great price.

expensive. This is good home cooked food, but make sure you take a big wallet. I think it cost too much for me and my family to eat there too often, so we go once in awhile as a treat.

Pretty good for the city. It is the only place that has real country cured ham and put that with eggs and ya got a feast for country folks.

Really nice in the winter when the fireplace is going strong

how could someone rate so high. not a bad place for breakfest but doesn't rate with the better place to have breakfest in indy. The people who chose cracker barrel have led a sheltered life and i feel sorry for them.

Cracker Barrel. It's nothing that belongs on the city's "best of" lists. It's mass produced home cooking. A good value, but nothing worth title of "best".
