Supertrucks, midget cars and big names make this park a mecca for true racing fans..
The Scene
Completed in 1961, this 300-acre facility west of Indianapolis boasts a 15-turn, 2.5-mile road and test course, a .686-mile banked oval track and a 4,400-foot drag strip that's home to NHRA's U.S. Nationals.
The Experience
This is the place to check out USAC sprint cars, midgets, Silver Crown cars, Formula Ford 2000s and NASCAR Grand National stock cars. There are also supertrucks and year-round drag racing. Prices are reasonable but don't let the relatively low cost fool you; at IRP, you're as likely to see a racing legend as you are a 15-year-old upstart. Big names like A.J. Foyt, Darrell Waltrip and Jeff Gordon have raced here.
