Not only do they charge $23 for a blow dry but I couldn't figure out if I was in a church service or a hair salon. There was scripture painted all over the walls and christian music playing. Separation of church and salon... yes please. For what it's worth the color in my hair turned out great and my stylist was nice enough but I have been to way better places and this was most certainly not the best salon experience I've had. I would not go back.
depends on your pros and cons.
i have been getting brazilians on and off for 5 years in several cities. my experience at transformations was in some ways great and in others not at all. i decided to try transformations bc my regular girl was on vacation right before i went on mine.
the biggest pro was the price- a full front and back brazilian was only $50 and thats the cheapest ive ever found (usually closer to $75-80). also the girl was very fast- it took about 15 or 20 minutes tops. she was very friendly and professional (as was everyone else there). upon completely a brief survey, i received a coupon for $10 my next service- also a plus!!
now for the cons. although this was the cheapest and quickest wax, it was also the most painful and the least thorough. without getting into too much detail, several patches were left unfinished, as well as a few nooks and crannies that i can recognize may be difficult to reach, but thats why i hired someone to do it...i can wax my front and sides, but need a bit more help further "down there". also, i am by no means a brazilian virgin and always expect quite a bit of pain, but this time it was so painful during and afterwards that i constantly tensed my muscles, almost asked her to stop, and could not walk normally afterwards (none of which has ever happened before). she also tore me (i am not an aesthetician, but i believe it is bc she was in such a hurry and did not hold my skin taut).
i had no feelings either way about the atmosphere, the length of hairlessness, or post-wax irritation (all standard). however, i noticed Bible verses painted on the walls. i found out that this spa is considered a Christian spa, which does not affect me either way, but may affect someone else, so i included it here. finally, the brazilian gal only works saturday.
so would i reccomend transformations for a brazilian? never for a first-timer, and for everyone else, i would simply ask, which are you most concerned about: your pain tolerance or your bank account?
Love it...very affordable. I love this place. I've been all over Indy looking for a good stylist to cut my hair and I've finally found it. I've also gotten a prenatal massage and the best pedi I've ever gotten. All of their services are well within the reasonable price range and I would recommend it to anyone. The only thing is that it's in a strip mall that looks a little in the dumps, but once you get inside; you see how awesome it is. It's a diamond in the rough!
