Go for the beer - NOT for the food!. My husband LOVES this place. I wish it would go out of business so I wouldn't have to eat there any more. The food is greasy and fatty so it is not a place for a healthy eater. I once "substituted" the side of vegetables for their "complimentary" chips and was charged $3.00 for a very small, very butter soaked portion of cauliflower and carrots and was denied the "complimentary" chips. When I complained to the waiter, the owner of Shallos personally came out to accuse me of not reading the menu carefully enough and to encourage me to do a better job next time. If it were not for my husband's love of the beer that they serve, I would NEVER have returned to this place. Now we only go on his birthday. That is once a year to often for me!

Best wings around. I lived in indy for 2 years, and absolutely fell in love with Shallo's wings. I grew up in IL, and now live in Atlanta. I make it a point to go out of my way on the trip to or from at least once a year just to get Shallo's wings. The beer selection is the icing on the cake.

40 drafts and 300+ bottles. If you are a true beer lover, then a visit to Shallos is a must. They have a huge selection of micros as well as beer from 21 different countries. Throughout the year they keep the selection fresh. So, if you are a regular or a first timer, you can always find a great beer to satisfy your palate. Located on Indy's southside across from the Greenwood Mall, Shallos is considered by some to be the Cheers of Indianapolis. It has a very laid back atmosphere. The waitstaff and the regulars are always ready to chat it up with new people. I should also mention that the food is good and very reasonably priced. I've worked in seven states and this is still the best hangout with the best beer selection I've found. So, if you like intelligent conversation and you like sippin' the suds, head on over to Shallos..
