Good times.
Go here! But don't go before it's time! ...this is the spot everyone goes to at the very end of the night. It gets crazy stupid fun. One of the best dive bars in Indianapolis. The people who work there are really nice and the drinks are stiff and cheap. *That's what she said?
Check it out on the Nightlights TV show's website! (episode 1)
great place.
Amazing cuisine, some of the best this side of New York!!
The clams casino and lobster are to die for, also try the lime rickeys!!
Best bloody mary in town!. Being a Butler grad I have spent many a night drinking in broadripple and many a morning hungover wondering what I was thinking trying to outdrink the entire football team! I did, however, find the perfect cure. Take a short jaunt down a back alley to the Alley Cat & hoist yourself on the barstool for the best bloody mary (and hangover cure) there ever was! This is where I learned to make this "almost a meal" drink. Since then I have made it for others and even converted the unlikely tomato-hater to love this brilliant concoction. No one makes them quite like the alley cat, though. A definite must try.
Mingle with the people. Whenever I go to Broad Ripple to hangout, I always go to the Alley Cat first. This place has a great atmosphere, pool tables, cheap drinks, and photo hunt! The people are friendly, the service is fast and the music is pretty good as well.
BEST VALUE IN RIPPLE!!.
BEST VALUE IN RIPPLE!!
Great breakfast menu, with friendly service and definitely an eclectic clientele!! A great bar with down to earth prices and tasty food!!
great dive hangout. I was working in town and visited this place based on the recommendation of local friends. I was not disappointed. There seem to be one of these types of places in every town, where the drinks are relatively cheap and the scene is cool. There are smatterings of annoyingly aloof hipsters (how you can be aloof at a dive bar is beyond me) but overall the people are friendly. Not pretty to look at, but a good time.
Punks, bikers, rockers, and Broad Ripple hoods frequent this fun bar in an alley..
In Short
Broad Ripple, normally known for frat-boy bars and dance clubs is also home to the Alley Cat, an entirely different type of establishment. As its name implies, the Alley Cat is located in an alley, right next to a bunch of dumpsters. Inside is smoky, cramped and almost always packed. There are pool tables, arcade games and an eclectic assortment of tough guys, from biker types to the mohawked punk rock set and all varieties of longhairs and skinheads in between.
Best Dive Bar. I visit this place whenever I visit Indy. I wish we had a place like this in Detroit. Punks, rockers, and hot women everywhere. Great music, great beer. o reason to dress up for this joint. Hang with your friends and make some new ones. A really open, laid-back, friendly setting (at least in my eyes).
