Favorite local meal. This resturant is within walking distance to us and we are there almost weekly for dinner - we love sitting outside - try the BBQ sandwich or breaded tenderloin. And in the winter, the coffee shop is one of our favorite places to sit and relax.
1st Time. My husband and I were at Moe & Johnny's for the first time ever on Sunday morning for breakfast. The restaraunt was clean, the service couldn't have been better, the atmosphere was fun and friendly, the owner was chatting with people from table to table (he didn't know us, so he didn't stop to chat with us), the manager was out asking if everything was to our liking and he even delivered our food to us. The food was like a very good book - one that you hate to end. While the story is over and you are satified, you hate for it to end because it was such a good experience. Kudos to Moe & Johnny's. Who ever thinks that its no good because its no longer bulldogs, needs to get over it and check out what Moe & Johnny's is!!
This Broad Ripple favorite serves typical American fare, but after sunset it's a social hub with live music and booze..
The Scene
Formerly the Bulldog, this bar, restaurant and music venue packs in a mostly twentysomething crowd every night of the week. A family-style restaurant serving burgers, pizza and salads by day, this roomy watering hole transforms into a packed social hub by night. It's no surprise with Butler University so close.
The Booze
Daily beer and drink specials give more bang for your buck on everything from Absolute Vodka cocktails to margaritas. There are seven beers on tap including Guinness, Bass and Coors.
While You're There
Local bands play every Friday and Saturday night. Though the club hasn't honed in on one type of music, most of the bands have a rock edge to them. Pool tables, video games, four big-screen TVs and a team of flirty waitresses always make for an interesting evening.
Good Times. I don't care how the current owner acquired the bar. I don't care that a lot of people would prefer that it still be called "The Bulldog". The service is top notch, the atmosphere is awesome (especially during IU basketball), and the food is excellent. Not to mention 3 big screen TV's, with NFL Sunday Ticket, NBA League Pass, etc. etc. Best bar in Indy, in my humble opinion.
It's a no go!. Moe and Johnny's lacks character simply because it's owner does. The bulldog will never be on 62nd street. That's original.
