Amateur- and pro-sports players and fans gather at this Broad Ripple bar for brews and views..
The Scene
This college-favorite bar is a shrine to the average joe--pro and amateur sports memorabilia plasters the walls; you can even bring your old bowling trophy to be displayed here. Catch a game on any one of the many screens throughout the bar. In the summer, the front windows come down and hip, young revelers spill out onto the sidewalk.
The Draw
The usual selection of domestics and imports are served in bottles and on tap, but Miller is big--it's on special just about any night. Fill up on pub grub like sandwiches, deep-fried appetizers and pizzas at reasonable prices. Got friends? Order a basket of 100 wings, from "mild" to "hell-on-earth."

Above Average Joes.
I went to Average Joe's to try out the famed Pork Tenderloin Sandwich. What I got was a dry tough and chewy sandwich that I did not want to finish. This dissappointment was overshadowed by finding the best wings on the planet.
I won't say they are buffalo style, but rather a unique flavor unto Joe's.
While I was there, it was pre Indy 500 hype time, and this place was dead. The sporting events televsed consisted of collegiate softball and not much else. There was just no energy in the joint.
