If you want to be treated Terribly This is the Place!.
Since this eatery opened my family ordered Sunday dinner approximately 20 times a year and ate in there at least 4-5 times a year........everyone always loved the food even though the service was awefull. One Sunday after about 45 minutes of waiting (which was no big deal) I called to find out approximately when the pizza would arrive and the gal said the delivery guy had already left with it and i responded Great. WELL when he arrived he informed me that I should not have called how dare I make him look bad! I told him thanks paid him and did not tip because of his RUDE remarks. When he saw i did not tip he started to berate me yelled at my wife in front of my children then went back to his car turned around came running at me screaming profanity! My eight year old daughter was in tears i thought i was going to have to call 911!! Later we called to talk to the manager and she said she knew all about it and we were no longer welcome to eat at their place! WOW!!!! They DID NOT CARE ONE BIT!!!!!!! Over 15 years of being a Loyal Avid Customer to be thrown out with trash! I read the other reviews and it seems pretty consistant that Food Good---BUT THESE PEOPLE DO NOT WANT YOUR BUSINESS!!!! THEY ARE UPSET THAT YOU CALL, THAT THEY HAVE TO COOK, AND THAT THEY MIGHT HAVE TO DELIVER FOOD TO YOU!
NOW we go to Puccini's--food is almost identical and want your buisness and will even do what Mom taught you to do, say Thank You.
I have been in the pizza industry for 20+ years so I might be more critical than most.
I have been in Indy for 5 months and i thought I would try a local pizza shop. I was told by a few of my customers that Some Guys has good food and that I should try it.
I checked out the website for the menu. when the site appeared it looked like a 4 year old created it. just didn't seem professional. unfortunately it also seems like Some Guys don't care what there customers think because there is no way to respond to them on their website.
What I ordered:
1 small creole pizza, 1 small southwest, 1 angel hair thai pasta, and 6 cans of coke.
my total bill came to $43.02
for $13.00 I was expecting at least a 1/2 pan of pasta similar to what pizza hut has. The pasta tasted good. The portion of pasta I received was warm at best. it irritated me that an item that takes a utensil to eat it with was not provided as well as napkins.
Nothing is more irritating than to open up a box of pizza to find out you have to cut it. i ask myself how this could be possible and it really boils down to the employees don't care. Both pizzas had generous topping portions but the crust tasted stale and flavorless. In most cases this is caused by using expired dough. On top of all that there was no promotional material included.
All in all I will not reorder from Some Guys Pizza. I feel what I ordered wasn't worth what I paid and the food wasn't that spectacular.
Some guys, ugh..
I have to say I'm so disappointed in this place. I went there once and thought that although my waitress was a complete dud, the food was worth the waitress' lack of intelligence.
My second time eating the pizza, I decided to avoid the stupid service, and get it delivered... The person on the phone told us it would be a 2 hour wait for delivery, so we opted to get it picked up. Our order was a HALF royal feast, half cheese. (two vegetarians...) After a short while we went to pick up the pizza, while they delivered it to our door. The people in the place didn't know where the pizza was, and we turned around and went back for our pizza which was at home...
Not a big deal, we only live a few minutes away, but when we got back it was a whole royal feast, and we called to address our concerns... They said they'd give us a small cheese pizza to make up for it, and said they'd have it delivered in 15 mins. 45 mins went by and we called again and they said it was supposed to be picked up. We canceled the order, and then decided to call back to talk to management..
Management got on the phone interrupted our concerns and said, "We wont deliver any more food to this address, because you've already cost us enough money tonight."
Forget that place.
Great independant restaurant!. I've been to Some Guys dozens of times over the years and have had excellent food & service every single time!
great pizza, never had a problem with the service. great pizza, never had a problem with the service
Great Pizza, Lousy People. I love this pizza, and if you are willing to risk having to deal with unapologetic, impersonal and arrogant management then you'll have a fine time. I dislike the rude behavior and the long waits, so I always get delivery.
Bad Customer Service.
We went in Saturday with a party of 8. We waited 1 hour and 40 minutes. We were not offered anything during our wait. The manager was fully aware of us and did nothing to accomodate us. Once we were seated, our server was out of sortz from the start. Food was good, once we finally got it. It took several attemps to get our salad orders correct.
We waited about another 20 minutes while our bill was calculated and then was presented to us on POST- IT NOTES. We had four seperate checks which we informed the server of at the start. at least two of the parties were over charged.
I will not go back.
to long. Wait 1/2 hr for pizza and sandwich on saterday at 4 pm. way to long
Delicious!. Some Guy's pizza is the absolute BEST pizza ever! Don't forget to try the Garlic Cheese Bread too! Every time I've been to Some Guy's Pizza, the servers have been attentive and the food impressive.
Dress in jeans and get ready to wait. The adventurous pies make this a popular place..
Colorful paintings and a giant mural surround undersized booths and tables. Lack of space is not a deterrent: You'll have to fight lines on the weekends, but have a beer in the extra waiting room and relax. Servers are quick yet gracious, perfectly willing to divide a plate of pasta or warn diners against ordering the Blenheim ginger ale ("Unless you really like ginger").
Woodfire ovens turn out sturdy-crusted, saucy pies that teeter between gourmet and traditional. Most sauces are house-made, like the spicy-tomato Creole or cilantro-goat-cheese pesto. The Thai pizza boasts of peanut crunch and comes topped with fresh bean sprouts. "The bomb" is a veritable manhole cover piled high with pepperoni, sausage, fresh veggies and lots of cheese. In addition to pizza, pastas run the gamut (fettucini, ravioli, spaghetti), salads are substantial and hearty soups taste homemade.
