Normally we have a great experience here, but this past weekend we went and the hostesses at the front were very rude and kept rolling their eyes and customers and getting upset when we would ask them a question. Some of the employees at the front would talk about customers as they would walk away and we could hear them. I just thought that was very unprofessional and shows poor customer service. The food is always good, but the staff is not very friendly.
Rebuilt Texas Roadhouse = dirty and poor service.
My husband and I were regulars at Texas Roadhouse prior to the fire that destroyed it a couple of years ago and the food and service was great. Since they have rebuilit, we have been there twice.
We fist visited Texas Roadhouse during the first week of their reopening. My husband and I both ordered our meals which included salads. The waitress came to our table with two salads but only placed one in front of me and took the other one to a different table. Then she disappeared until she brought our meals. Although she did appear over by the bar doing a line dance with some others. We decided that maybe the waitress was new to waitressing and decided that we would give Texas Roadhouse some time to work out the bugs before going back.
We decided to give them a second chance just yesterday, 6/18/2011. We were there at 2pm and they had only been open for 3 hours by that time and were not busy. There were several servers sitting outside smoking when we walked up. We had to wait at the hostess stand for a few minutes before anyone came to seat us. The hostess had no personality and she sat us at a dirty table. It looked like someone had taken their entire meal and threw it under our table and there was food stuck to our seats. We moved over one booth so that we weren't sitting in trash / food, it was a little better, but still had to wipe off the seats. We sat there and ate our 4 rolls that the server gave us and looked at the menus. As we were sitting there, I noticed that there was food and trash all over the floor . Keep in mind that they had only been open for 3 hours. We sat there for over 5 minutes and no server ever came to our table. The hostess even walked back by our table and didn't notice that we still had no drinks or anything. We decided to walk out before it was too late. That was the last time that we will ever go to that Texas Roadhouse on Shadeland Ave.
Texas--themed barbecue chain provides carnivores with a family-friendly spot for a hand-cut steak or rack of tender ribs..
In Short
With dozens of locations spread across most of the country, this faux-roadhouse chain has become a dependable spot for families in search of a casual spot for affordable steaks and down-home comfort fare. The playful menu is dotted with kid-friendly titles (chicken "critters," "road kill" chopped sirloin) and options (add caramel and marshmallow to a baked sweet potato for a dollar). In-house hand-cut steaks come in a plethora of cuts and sizes.
Nothing special, but good.... As far as the steakhouse chains are concerned, Texas RH is just about the best. The steaks are good, ribs are really good and the meat just falls right off the bone. You are tempted to eat all of the rolls with that yummy cinnamon butter, but don't or you won't have room for the meal. Service is usually good and quick. If you're in somewhat of a hurry but don't want a fast food situatuation, then go here. You can phone ahead and get your name on the waiting list.
The Roadhouse a must. this one of the best steakhouses I have ever been in, service, clean(for what it is), over all everyone is polite as could be. When it comes to the food that is some of the best home cooking I have had in a long time. Sorry MOM

Fast Food With Table Service. Loud, franchise atmosphere. Very close to a Bonanza in food quality and environment. Good place for a fast lunch, but that's about all.
Low Quality. To quote Rodney Dangerfield I've had better food at the ballpark!
