What People Are Saying About Ritters Frozen Custard

In Short – The modest blue and white buildings are set in parking lots off main highways, where locals swarm like bees to honey when the shops open in warmer months. Hurried workers pack waffle cones, dishes and sundae cups with super-thick frozen custard. A few outdoor tables and benches are available, but most people grab their custard and head for the car. Flavors change daily, but chocolate or vanilla is always available.
Editor's Tips
- Know Before You Go:
- Some Ritter's locations have flavor hotlines for customers who want to call ahead to check the day's selections.
- The Extras:
- Custards can be purchased in pints or quarts. Do it when they close up shop in November--it's all a frozen custard lover can do to get through the winter.
great place

The frozen custard is great. Even though it is seasonal, they usually have few times in the winter where you get a quart of your favorite flavor! I really like how they have focused on the Indiana theme: Hoosier Delight and Boilermaker.
- Pros: good ice cream/custard
- Cons: having to wait your favorite flavor
Ohhh, Yes!

I had never had frozen custard until I moved to Indianapolis, and I am now an addict. It's pricey, but to me, it is worth it. In fact, when I entertain out-of-towners, I always take them to Ritter's for dessert. My kids love it, too!
- Pros: Neat Flavors, Friendly Staff, Lots of Choices
- Cons: Closed in Winter : (
Far Over-Rated
by worldtraveler63 at Citysearch
I think this place is far over-rated and expensive. I have been dragged along a dozen or more times and feel cheated everytime. While the flavors of the day sound good.....they aren't all they are cracked up to be and you will pay top price for what you get.
- Pros: Cold for Hot weather, Some like it
- Cons: Expensive, Taste mediocore
Heaven In Your Mouth!

I don't think that I recall ever tasting anything quite like Ritter's Frozen Custard. I have tried almost everything on the menu and it is all wonderful (even the bizarre flavored custards). If you want heaven in your mouth, you need to make a trip to your nearest Ritter's stand!
