Best Haircut Outside of NYC. My hairdresser at Emmett's is Stevie. The first time I went there, when I got to the salon, I watched what he did with the woman's hair who had the appointment before mine. Her hair was absolutely gorgeous. The color and the cut were just amazing. Nothing outrageous or fancy, she just looked like someone had "done her right." So I felt pretty comfortable knowing that Stevie was going to do my hair. Long story short, it's the best haircut Ive ever had. I have very curly hair, and he knew just how to cut it to maximize the curl yet it has style and it's not a "helmet." I have had so many compliments on it, even from strangers. Believe me, I'm someone who regularly cries leaving a salon after having been butchered or made to look like a 55 year old Indiana woman (which I am in actuality, but in spirit most definitely AM NOT!) and he made me look like a happenin' chick. The salon does nothing but hair. It's a simple, sleek environment that is a very happy place and they focus on what they do best: fabulous hair. Thanks, Stevie!!!!!

worst experience. I found Emmetts through Instyle magazine and after coming to Indiana from Chicago was in desperate search for a new stylist. I found Emmetts the Studio from Instyle magazine and was excited to find a salon with such praise and a great "clientele" base. I paid over 400 dollars for a service that not only did I hear about "celebrity clientele" and their personal problems that I am sure the Manning family and Melancamp family would not appreciate everyone hearing, but my "color specialist" Naieem made my entire appointment on his own time I have over processed hair that I was charged for a foil at nearly 200 dollars, a gloss that I have been explained as " a service needed to smooth my ends..... when I chose not to pay for the 90 dollar gloss I was informed that I needed it to actually tone what my hair had processed to... it was nothing that I had asked for and there are streaks throughout my hair. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE, THEY SAID ENOUGH ABOUT ALLLL OF THEIR CLIENTELE TO KNOW THE ONLY REASON THEY ARE PUBLISHED IS FROM EMMETTS WORK EARLIER IN HIS CAREER.... IF ONLY HE COULD KEEP THAT PASSION FOR HIS CAREER AND CLIENTS AS HE DID TO FIGHT WITH HIS CO OWNER AND EMPLOYEES DURING MY SERVICE I PAID FOR!!!!!!

Derrall Gibson is THE BEST!. I had the awesome pleasure of having my hair cut by the uber talented Derrall Gibson! I'm 37 and that was the best haircut and "hair experience" ever. He is extremely talented, trained by the best in the industry and such a pleasure to talk to. I'm in love with the cut he gave me and feel luck to have found him. I ADORE EMMETT!!! CALL TODAY!!!!. What a GREAT experience! From the warm welcome from Emmett and Naieem to the beautiful,non pretencious salon,to the amazing haircut and finished look...I couldn't stop smiling!! I can honestly say this is the BEST haircut I have ever had in my entire life!! As a hairdresser for 25 yrs myself,Ive had every top hairdresser in the world do my hair and none compare to my Emmett! Emmett is a god!! He has ridiculously mad skills!! It is no wonder he is the best in Indiana. He truly is a rare jewel. Great Birthday Gift. I've had short hair for decades and have had lots of great cuts and styles. Every time my husband and I would walk or drive past Emmett's Studio on Pennsylvania and now on 54th, I'd say, "I wonder what Emmett would do with my hair?" Knowing my pocketbook wasn't deep enough for an Emmett cut and, more likely, getting tired of hearing the repeated question, my smart husband gave me a gift certificate for a cut with Emmett for my birthday.

I used my certificate today and all I can say is WOW! I never knew my hair could look so good--and I thought I had seen just about everything that could be done with my hair. Emmett listened to what I liked and didn't like about my hair and made suggestions. I have a new look that I know I can care for and maintain with minimal effort, which is a BIG deal for me.

ALL the people at Emmett's were extremely friendly, professional, and unpretentious. Emmett and Naieem made me feel right at home. THANK YOU for a wonderful and FUN hair experience.

In Response to Husker1. In response to "husker1"... I'd like to personally apologize that you had a negative experience at Emmetts the studio. I'd also like to take this opportunity to let you know, you are always welcome to come back if you feel like your service was inadequate I would LOVE the chance to make sure you always love your hair services and your experience at the salon.I pride myself on my consultations, if there was a lack of communication on what your desired outcome was I am very apologetic for that as sometimes as a stylist it's not easy to read every clients thought; but that is why I try to ensure a thorough consultation each and every time. I can assure you if the issue would have been addressed to myself or any member of the salon we would have done anything we could to make your experience a more positive one. I would like to thank you for pointing out that you did not appreciate the cigarette breaks while you were processing and in consideration of our clients you are absolutely right about not having to smell smoke while enjoying your salon experience. Although I do not understand what the size of our salon has to do with your experience, some of the most famous& exclusive salons in the world are no larger than ours and the salon has been featured in national design magizines. Maybe if you had gone out to our patio or to the lower level of the salon it may have altered your view of the size.I do hope you give myself,yourself and the salon another chance to correct any issue you feel you may have with your hair services as well as salon experience.

Amazing service!. Amazing service- would recommend to anyone who is looking for beautiful color and highlights! Amazing cut- love the layers. Thank you Kasie - my hair looks and feels amazing, well worth the money spent! Best color job ever and I've tried several salons.

Huge waste of Money. I recently decided to invest in a more expensive haircut, and went to what is reported as the premier salon in Indy. I was sickened that I paid over $280 for haircut and highlights. The highlights were okay, but not worth the money. The haircut is by far the worst I've had, by stylist kasie. The stylist did not do what I ,asked, my hair looks like a grown out Mullett!!!. She took several cigarette breaks during my visit, and then wreaked like smoke hovering over me the entire time. The salon was small, and very cramped. Not what I expected. In this instance, paying more money does not necessarily get you better quality! Way overrated.

Kasie is fantastic!. I am extremely particular about my hair. I found Kasie some time ago and she is absolutely amazing. She listens to what I want done and always does a fantastic job. We have had my hair short, long (she does great extensions!), and a variety of colors. My hair color always looks natural and I have people ask me where I get my hair done frequently! Go to Emmetts and ask for Kasie you will love her and the studio-everyone there is great and personable!!

Naieem Abdool is great!. Naieem is personable. I had grown out my hair for 3 1/2 years to donate, arrived to the appointment with a list of specifications of what I wanted from a haircut, and Naieem delivered! The end results from the cut & highlights were terrific. Compliments have abounded. Go to Naieem to get a great look & you too will be a satisfied customer.
