breakfast not what it used to be. Had breakfast at 49th. and Penn today for the first time in several years. The omelet was nothing like in the past. It was cool, not warm. The spinach was barely there, and the feta was so sparse that it was only on the last few bites on one end of the omelet. Very disappointing indeed. The mushrooms were there but not very many at all. My husband was disgusted that he paid extra for cheese and there was hardly any at all. Outrageous! Then, the waitress asked if she could remove his plate while he was just taking a bite from his last piece of toast!!!! What!! He could hardly respond because his mouth was full. They were not even busy. We will not becoming here for breakfast again. Too expensive and not what it used to be.

Best breakfast in Indianapolis. They have excellent breakfast and lunch and not just the typical fare. I highly recommend Cafe Patachou!

Great local food. Ate lunch here today for the first time and was very impressed. The chicken salad on wheat, with fresh greens salad was wonderful. The service was also excellent. Most importantly however, the restaurant supports local farmers (chicken, eggs, produce, etc.) as much as possible. As good of a reason as any to try it out.

Disappointing. A group of us tried the downtown location after hearing how great it was. The four of us each ordered something different, and we were all underwhelmed to say the least. The salad I had tasted like I was eating my own lawn and the sandwich had no personality whatsoever, I could hardly taste it. The prices were ridiculous for what we got. The service wasn't all that either. We (3 women) were hardly noticed at all until our very goodlooking male friend joined us. There seemed to be a lot of attitude that was just uncalled for. I won't be back.

Great ecclectic menu with wonderful servers.. I love the self service coffee bar. They always have a great variety. The Downtown location is by far my favorite. Sundays are cool and the servers are always great. They have one that reminds me of Maggie Gyllenhall. Cute!! The food is different but very good. Try the omellettes as they are always good. The chef comes up with some cool combos. The granola with yogurt is great too. We start many motorcyle rides there and it is always good. I tried to go there at lunchtime during the week and it was packed with the Simon building employees and I did not want to wait. This is one of my favorite breakfast spots downtown. Give it a go.

Very poor service.. I read these revies and made the mistake of going to the Carmel cafe. The food is mediocre and the portions are small but it was the service which was very poor. I did not find them to be friendly at all and maybe the other locations has better staff but this place needs a serious attitude adjustment. I would definitely not go back to this location again.

Yum!. Their Cinnamon Toast is reason enough to come back again and again! Their salads are really good, in addition to their omelets. I like the ambiance of the Pennsylvania St. Patachou more than the one at Keystone at the Crossing.

Great breakfast place. I really enjoy Patachou for breakfast. Their oatmeal is creamy and delicious. The also have homemade granola which is amazing, especially when eaten with fresh fruit and yogurt. They also have omelettes and fresh bread which is used for toast. Definitely a keeper.

This neighborhood hot spot earned its reputation by turning a mean omelet and serving it with a smile.. The Scene

On Sunday mornings, while the runners and power walkers pound Pennsylvania Street, the happiest bedheads in town are hanging out here. Adding to the ambience of this sunny little diner are the golden retrievers tied up out front, patiently waiting for their owners to finish with their self-serve coffee.

The Food
Egg-white omelets, thickly sliced and butter-logged cinnamon toast, granola with fruit and yogurt--these yummy breakfasts are the best way to get a jump start on the day, even if it's noon. Tasty eggs-of-the-day combinations like bacon, horseradish and Gouda are served with a cup of fruit and a choice of toast. For lunch, thick oven-roasted turkey sandwiches are flavorful and hearty. The cafe's own pastry chef whips up sweet treats like lemon tarts, rich brownies and airy mousse cakes.

Best Breakfast around. By far the best breakfast in Indy. If you want more "normal" food, try Denny's. But if you want imaginative, well-prepared and healthy menu choices, try Patachou.
