As the owner of Studio 2000, I feel it appropriate to address Rachel rvr2006's tip about us. I appreciate all reviews, but must set the record straight. My first reccomendation to all of you is not to come in on your due date. Nothing will be right, as it's a very uncomfortable time. My staff was very hesitant to provide services on someone who was at 9 months. We and most doctor's don't suggest it. Our therapists mentioned are all Board Certified professionals who are highly trained and highly requested by our guests. If you are having a spa pedicure after your massage, we generally will not robe you since you would have to get dressed with wet toes. Not a good idea. There was construction going on in our facility that weekend and something may have been , but it is throughly cleaned every night. I do apologize if we missed anything because of this. Our nail polish is in the retail store of our salon where it's accessable along with hundreds of products to make you look and feel great. When I learned of this client's upset the next morning, we refunded Rachel's charges entirely. We have kept our clients happy for 23 years, recently won NUVO's Best Spa poll, but there are certain circumstances where we miss the mark. Now that she is a new Mother, I hope Rachel gives us another chance as my guest.
Dirty, Not a serene experience.
I am judging the SPA part of this establishment only.
Called to make my appointment, Monica answered the phone. Very well informed, polite, helpful, and best of all nice.
Music selection was very nice in "relaxation" room.
All staff I encountered were very nice and friendly.
When you walk in, you are greeted by a large rack of nail polish for sale. Not my idea of a serene welcome.
The place is FILTHY. There is a layer (or 2) of dust on everything. The magazines were even nasty. How is one to relax when you can phyically see the dirt around?? It was also extrememly warm in the spa section. I was told they had to turn the heat up to keep the salon part warm (huge windows). And so I was sweating throughout the experience.
I was there for multiple spa services and was not asked to change into a robe or given a locker. I had to lug my stuff around with me and change back into my clothes after my massage, which meant I was still greasy from the oils and had to sit around for the rest of my services feeling gross.
I was at my appointment early, as told to be, to have time to undress and prepare for the massage. I sat in the "relaxation" room for 30 minutes before I was greeted by Liz. This meant my massage started 15 minutes late, but ended on time... Liz asked me what I wanted to focus on, then did not pay attention to what I asked once she started. She did however ask a few times if here pressure was good, which was nice.
Brandi did my mani/pedi. She was very nice, but seemed inexperienced. It took FOREVER to do simple things that the Korean nail place around the corner does in half the time for half the price, and the result is just as good.
After it was all done, I mentioned to the receptionist that my massage was shortened by 15 minutes and she told me I had to call back the next day since there was no manager there. I should have been taken care of right then, and not have to spend more of my time dealing with this.
I will never go to their spa services again. I did not feel pampered or relaxed. I felt gross and like I was surrounded by amatures.
While I appreciate all reviews, be assured that this guest, Rachel, was not charged for her services. Being a father, I understand the stress that goes along with a woman being pregnant. I would advise not to come in for spa services on your delivery due date as did Rachel. Everyone on my staff was hesitant to provide the services, as she was at the end of the 3rd trimester and it was high risk. They are a caring group of Board Certified, licensed professionals who were genuinely concerned about this young lady's well being. Especially since it was the due date of her baby! We did have construction going on as we updated our sinks and our wet room in the spa. We take great strides to clean and sanitize nightly. When my Guest Services representative Monica spoke to Rachel the next day, she felt that we had satisfied all of her concerns. While her post is surprising, I invite Rachel to call me and come back at no charge, now that she has become a new Mother. Kevin Williams, Owner
Went to Studio 2000 for my first bikini wax. All of the staff were very nice and professional. The decor is dark and calming and the music they play is relaxing. Nice comfy chairs to sit in while you wait.
Georgetta took the time to explain the process and she did an excellent job. Made me feel very relaxed and comfortable. I would definately recommed her if it is your first waxing. If I lived here I would definately visit again.
Lousy hair cuts. A few years ago, I had an OK haircutter at Studio 2000. The location was good and the studio is airy and pleasant. After that haircutter left, I tried other hair stylists there--and the cuts were *awful*. Someone else already warned against Edward in these reviews, I will as well! He gave me a terrible cut. Then, I had a young woman cut my hair who did a worse job than a 4 year old with blunt scissors. Plus, the fees were very expensive. Bottom line, avoid Studio 2000....
Fabulous!. Studio 2000 has always been a great experience. Since November the salon has had a serious makeover. The change seems to have brought nothing but positives to the staff and clients. I also visit and have visited Christina for quite sometime and she has done a a fantastic job on my very difficult hair. I also LOVE the product line, Brocoto and Davines (sp?) have changed my life. :) I highly recommend Studio 2000 to anyone who likes quality and embraces change.
Studio 2000 & Christina GREAT.
I have been going to Studio 2000 for almost a year now and have had nothing but positive experiences. Christina has cut my hair since I started going there and she is terrific! She always listens to what I want and makes suggestions on what she thinks would look good. In my experiences, Christina has always been very attentive and I would highly recommend her and the salon. Not every salon or every stylist is right for everyone, you've got to find a good fit.
The front desk staff have always been friendly and polite.
Parking is no big deal if you don't mind a short walk. . .park at Circle Center and walk!
Will look for a better salon.
I'm a young woman who knows how I like to have my hair done, come in with plenty of pictures, and plenty of specific directions for what I want done, and what I don't want. I had been going to the same stylist for 3-4 years over which time we had developed a trust and familiarity that he knows what works for me and what I like, and I can give him vague limitations but otherwise trust his judgement and give him full artistic & creative liscence. He was the best. But I had to leave my favorite stylist when I moved to Indy for work reasons, and so far I haven't been able to find a new stylist that comes even close.
I've been to Studio 2000 twice for a hair cut. Both times, the experience has been "meh". Not horrible, but nothing to rave about. When making my very first appointment, I specifically asked for someone who is good at styling thick hair, someone skilled with long layers and textured cuts and went with their recommendation (I believe her name was Christina). I also got an all-over color the first time. The first visit was okay. The stylist and staff were polite, but not really cordial or friendly. I wasn't excited/thrilled with the cut but it was satisfactory enough to give them a second try. The second time with the same stylist was more disappointing. The cut was heavy and bulky, and during my appointment I felt rather neglected (and the salon wasn't even busy). The stylist seemed disinterested in the work at hand, and barely cracked a smile. I don't recall her asking even if I was happy with my hair afterwards.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend this salon. The interior is nice, but staff seemed disinterested and lacked enthusiasm, and the hair-styling was mediocre and nothing to rave about. I will be going to a different salon next time.
A wonderful experience!. This salon is worth the trip from Carmel any day. The stylist I normally go to flaked out on me for the 100th time, so I decided to try Studio 2000. I can't explain how refreshing it is to have someone actually listen to my needs and desires! I wanted a style I could work with easily and color that was close to my natural (from 20 years ago) color. Not only did she listen, but made great suggestions on how to style the cut for several different looks when I did it at home. She sent me off with products that extend the life of the color so I could go six weeks before the next appointment. I have had so many positive comments on this new look!! It seems that they all have a friendly attitude in a real cool location. You usually don't find that welcome feeling up north, I know. Great cut, great color, great attitude. Five stars from me!
Great Salon - Avoid Edward!!!. This Salon is fabulous with friendly owners and staff. I went there for 3 years in college with such wonderful results that I referred my friends, cousins, mom, and aunts. However, this week a friend of mine went in for a regular highlight with her usual stylist Edward and came out with her hair completely wrecked until it grows out... up to 5 years! While little color mistakes can sometimes happen, he turned her head neon pink. Then when it was clear a mistake has been made, Edward got in her face and made nasty remarks blaming her (?!?) before proceeding to bleach her hair 3 times to the point where it was white with hot pink streaks. Finally, after damaging her hair so badly that he warned her not to comb it for fear of breaking it off, he dyed it a shade of dark brown when it had been blonde! All the while trying to send her home without fixing it. I cannot recommend this salon enough and the other stylists are wonderful but you better think twice before letting Edward near your head!
Mixed experiences. I've been to Studio 2000 twice. The first time was in June 2007 -- my boyfriend made an appointment for a manicure/pedicure for me before Zoobilation. My experience was FABULOUS! The best pedicure I've ever had -- I felt like I had been totally pampered. I received a gift certificate from my work and decided to use it at Studio 2000 when I came back in December 2007. I was so looking forward to the experience. Come to find out, the woman I had before had left, so they assigned me to someone else. Long story, short -- this other lady was far more interested in telling me her love-life woes instead of working on me. I'm sorry, but when I'm spending the money (and my certificate barely covered half of my bill) to be pampered, I don't want to hear other's woes -- I want to relax (and talk about my own stuff, if I so desire). And to add salt to the wound, I was very unhappy with the finished product. So, my experience with Studio 2000 went from a 5 to a 1.... so I'll give it an over all 3... I could use another pedicure at the moment, but am a bit hesitant to go back there....
