Miss Susan has a nice variety of yarns…
Miss Susan has a nice variety of yarns, from Alpaca, over wool and silk, bamboo and many more in all shapes and colors. The store is a little unoranized though and I find it hard to find the yarn I am looking for,only with the help from the employee, a German Lady also called Suzanne.This Lady said that the tidyness improved since she is working there, fixing shelves and organizing yarn, serving patrons and so on. She gets not paid in money put in the value of money she may choose any yarn, books, needles and supplies she likes, which in turn she sells for cheaper than Miss Susan the owner, so if you are lucky you might do a nice deal with her, especial on the so called Turbo needles. This German is a master in knitting and crocheting, no wonder, Germans grow up with that stuff. Suzanne also teaches in Miss Susan's store, for a hefty prize though, this is her deal not Miss Susan's. You will have the opportunity to learn the knitty critty, though be prapered, as a German Suzanne might mistake the store for an Oktoberfest Beertent, she tends to have a low level of patience and gets quite loud,e than the store would need to. Another thing, which this employee offers, is to knit stuff for you, though be warned, do NOT pay her unless she has your order there and ready for you to take it home. She took money in advance< $ 250> deliver 2 third of my stuff and then refuses to remember that she still owes me my merchandise.
All in all, would I recommend this store??Not really, unless you REALLY want a specific yarn now and then otherwise there are more stores like this in Indy and the Internet offers the same yarns. Susanne complained once, that she ordered a yarn from Miss Susan and had to wait 6 month for it, because Miss Susan kep forgetting to order it, the same Susanne told me once about specific knitting needles, while she was already working for yarn.
