I love coming to Joe’s in dinner time to have my special plate of chile con quezo! It is the most delicious Mexican plate I have ever tried. It’s a little spicy but the cheese makes it better also with the tortillas! Wonderful! I love it.

My wife and I love the food here. We sit on the patio most of the time and the service is always great. Our server is always attentive and checking to make sure everything is up to par. We'll be back!

When Joe died he took it with him.. Acapulco Joe's was once the best of Indianapolis, great food, party bar, always happening. When Joe died it went down hill fast and never stopped falling. The food was once a perfect 5 stars and there was USUALLY a line going around the block of people waiting to get in. It is easy to get in anytime now. The food is so weak now that old Joe is probably spinning in his grave. Today I went for the last time, and was charged $12 for a chili con queso that was nasty. Avoid this once great dump. Try Puerto Villarte instead on 56th and Lafayette for good food.

Don't Bother. It's not a place I'll return to! The waiter was rude, service slow, and it wasn't busy, only two other tables were occupied. The food was soso. I was disappointed as I had heard some good things about this place. Not worth the one star rating I gave It!

Mystery solved!. Ratings are either very good or very bad. Makes you wonder... here's the deal.

Acapulco Joe's serves pre-made cafeteria food in a Mexican-themed environment.

If you are looking for authentic Mexican food you won't find it here. It's more like the nachos sold at the local ball stadium with the cheese sauce that is pumped like hand soap from a plastic jug.

Folks that enjoy Taco Bell would probably enjoy Acapulco Joe's. People that enjoy MCL and Golden Corral might also enjoy it.

I suspect that people who tout it as "best Mexican" have probably never ventured far from central indiana. They probably also believe that Cinco de Mayo (May 5th) is Mexico's Independence Day.

Our family took dances classes at a studio on the second level. We ate there - once! I don't think any of the five of us will ever return.

I'm not knocking the food - it's just not me. I'd rather stay home and eat Old El Paso - it's the same and cheaper.

If you enjoy eating at a school or work cafeteria then you will probably enjoy it. If you think Jonathan Byrd's is great then you'll probably think Acapulco Joe's is great.

I hope this helps solve the Acapulco mystery and puts it in perspective.

Bon apetit! (I meant to say, "Buen provecho!")
