In Short – Since its 1952 debut in Memphis, Tenn., Holiday Inn has become one of the most recognized hotel brands in the world. Kids rule here: Children age 19 and younger stay for free when sharing a parent's room and as many as four children per family (age 12 or younger) eat for free at hotel restaurants. Other amenities include 24-hour business services, an in-room coffeemaker, iron, hair dryer, room service, a swimming pool and a fitness center.

MORE EMPHASIS NEEDED ON THE DOUBLE KING BEDS!

by playnine at Citysearch

The Hotel claims that this is the only hotel in the world that has 2 king beds in every room along with a 42" flat screen in every room. I have stayed in hundreds of hotels around the world anf have never seen this. This is a huge plus!!!!!!!!! Especially for a family of 4. There should be more emphasis on this.

Cheat Customers and Over charge Soccer Teams

by Tristate Futbol Alliance at Citysearch

This email is to share the type of response and customer service you can expect from the Holiday Inn Express in Southeast Indianapolis. I had a billing discrepancy that is being battled with Holiday Inn Express during our participation in the “ Siege at St. Francis. Mr. Joshi is the manager at the hotel and the Holiday Inn has charged me for two nights for our Team Trainer and my own Room ( the Coach) after arriving Saturday Afternoon. In my and my trainer's haste between games and to get lunch, I signed in, and flagged that we would only be staying the one night as the lady thought we had arrangements for the night before. I informed her that I did not make reservations for Friday night. The representative at the Desk, Barb , a platinum hair women, assured me she would make note of it and correct it. Now my statement shows the billing with double booking charges on both rooms. This totals $257.38 for the weekend. On a Coach's budget and volunteer with youth, this is outrageous. Again, in my morning rush, I did not find the receipt under the door and ask at the desk if it was corrected, and foolishly accepted the women’s assurances it was all okay and I was good.

What is also very disenchanting with this establishment is that they change their stories as different people talk to them and they claim no reference to the actual date of check in, just you have a reservation for two nights, their word verses yours. The exchanges thus far has been thru the St. Francis Club since Mr. Joshi will not even extend the copurtesy of calling me. This after over four attempts and I get screened at th desk.

This leads to the purpose of this twitter, Mr. Joshi needs some encouragement to do the right thing and refund the coaches money. With over 24 families from our club staying at this hotel, young ladies 9 , 10 and 12 years of age, a simple mistake by his staff should be handled quickly with a positive and customer satisfaction with excellent approach. I will say the tournament director and St. Francis Soccer Club are trying to help in every way possible. They are truly interested in the interests of the game, families and in support of volunteers in soccer.

Right now I would tell all teams and travelers, beware and avoid this hotel like the plague. If a GM has the mentality of the almighty dollar even if it means cheating his customers, this is not the place for families or travelers to stay at. If you call for reservations, please ask if they refunded the TFA soccer team before making a reservation.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Bed Bugs at this Hotel

by rgillum at Citysearch

I stayed at this hotel with my 4 children a few weeks ago for a basketball tournament that was being held in Indianapolis. We had our whole team there so it was very busy. As I went to bed that evening I saw bed bugs on the blankets at the bottom of the bed. I started looking around the room and found 2 more. My daughter even took pictures of them. I called the front desk and asked to be moved to a different room and was told that they did not have any rooms available. I asked them to come up and look at the bed bugs and they responded that they believed me and didn't need to. (which makes me wonder if they knew about the problem). I went to the front desk to check out to go somewhere else since they could not accomodate me with a different room and was told that I was still going to be charged half price for the room. I was very upset since I had to check out at midnight with 4 children and no place to go. I asked to speak to a manager and was told that the front desk clerk already spoke to him and he was actually part owner and said that he does not take calls on the weekends and would not talk to me until Monday. He never did contact me nor would talk to me, but when I called back I was informed that now I was being charged full price for the room (per the part owner). I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE. I finally contacted Holiday Inn headquarters and was told that this was an independantly owned hotel just using their name, but if the hotel would not do the right thing that they would, and they reimbursed me my night's stay. I commend Holiday Inn for doing this, but I would be very careful using Holiday Inn again since they have different owners that apparently don't care about the customers at all and still charge them full price for a room that they never stayed in (just a couple of hours). BEWARE if you decide to stay at this hotel. It looks very nice, but they have bed bugs and don't care to do anything about it.

Don't Trust!!

by MegMM at Citysearch

This hotel was not good. Staff and management were not friendly or helpful. Overcharged and will not do anything about it. I guess that is how they see doing business and staying in business. AWFUL! I would not recommend this hotel! I go to Indianapolis every 2 months and will NEVER stay here again! It actually puts me off Holiday Inn completely!! BEWARE!!! Go there at your own risk!! There are other hotels near that would be much better!! Save yourself headache and extra cash!!

  • Cons: Staff and management are not trustworthy!

New and Modern, Luxurious and Comfortable!

by Gandleburg at Citysearch

I walked into this hotel and was immediately taken by surprise, the architecture and design that went into this place. It is very modern, the colors stand out, and left a great first impression upon me.

I was immediately welcomed as I entered the hotel, and you know how you can just kinda tell how friendly the people are... I had a very good feeling about the front desk staff, seemed like they were a family, but also very good at what they do, I was checked in in less than a minute, so good in my book!

The room was nice, very big, had two king beds. This was apparently the standard for the hotel. The TV was big and widescreen, had a fridge and a microwave which is good, because I always bring my own foods... trying to cut back on the Fast Food consumption.

I got to enjoy the pool a little bit, it was very big compared to some other expresses, and even had this neat little waterfall thing. But I spent most of my time in the fitness center, 24 hours it's open, but they have six machines and even free weights.

All in all, a great place, a slip under the door for my receipt and I was on my way.

  • Pros: Excellent service, architecture, location, and beds!
  • Cons: Why aren't there more holiday inn's like this?!
