Not Just a Church, a Community.
If you are looking for a welcoming church that embraces everyone regardless of your race, gender, sexuality, or social or economic background, then Unity of Indianapolis is the place for you. It is a place where everyone has value, and everyone is lifted up in spirit. Every Sunday is like a family reunion, with lots of love, caring, and hugs. If one of of the congregation is in need, the ministers and congregation do what they can for that person.
Indeed, the ministers are very approachable and willing to talk and address each person's need for spiritual support. They or the trained chaplains are readily available to pray with you at your request. Their dedication is beyond reproach.
Sunday service as well as many classes will satisfy inquiring minds and willing spirits, inspiring your spiritual growth and give you tools for spiritual living on a day to day basis.
Come try out Unity of Indiapolis: it will feel like coming home.
I'm proud to be a minister at this church.
I am proud and honored to be a minister serving at this church. I have never been involved with a more generous and loving congregation than Unity of Indy. The people are compassionate and caring and they help one another. They make everyone who attends our services and classes feel welcome.
We are known as the downtown church with the upbeat message. People are not called sinners in our church. We believe that the spirit of God dwells within each person and we acknowledge and honor the divinity within you. I invite you to join us on a Sunday at 10 am.
The Church that Walks the Talk.
I think of myself as more spiritual than religious and dislike people who are hypocrites. They preach love and forgiveness and then treat people like they are a leper if they are gay/lesbian, are an alcoholic, or don't believe as they believe. This church loves and accepts you for who you are. Baptism doesn't change a person for the better. Change comes from within. Children who attend this church are taught to love and forgive, not to hate. That is what is important. This church will lift you up and not make you feel like a worthless sinner.
P.S. The music is good too.
A church filled with love and acceptance. As Christ (and other great spiritual teachers) have taught us, "Love thy neighbor as thyself." As you may recall, Jesus hung out with prostitutes, thieves, beggars, and lepers (among others) and did not judge them or condemn them. I love Unity church for many things, but one of the most important (in my eyes), is the love and acceptance we show to EVERYONE who sets foot through our church doors, NOT just the ones who look like/act like ourselves. More than any other Christian church that I have attended, THIS church applies and lives the principles that Jesus taught us. That we why we enjoy a greater diversity within our congregation than any other in our fair city. Join us if you really want to learn more about your own spirituality and a more peaceful, awakened way to live.
