I have been Regal's customer for nearly 5 years now. Up until today, I was a fan and recommended them to friends. Great location for drop off and pick up, their work was always satisfactory. Yesterday I get a call from the manager/(?)owner saying that my buttons on my dress jacket had melted during dry cleaning. Accidents happen, I get that. And manufactures don't always produce quality products even though they look good, I get that too. I commend the phone call, and the offer to have his seamstress go find some new buttons and sew them on. My weekend plans prevented me the time to accept that offer, none other was made. Today when I go to pick up the garment along with the other pieces I had cleaned this week, there was no discount marked. The cleaning charge for the jacket was $8.40. At my insistence, the sweet girl at the counter called the man I had spoken to. He only agreed to take off $4.00 of my total $34.70 bill still expecting me to pay $4.40 for the jacket cleaning that was botched. I drove from their location in Noblesville to Castleton Joanne Fabric to find new buttons, which cost me an additional $4.00 plus the gas and time. Now I am home and will spend the next half hour sewing them on.
Accidents happen. I would have been totally satisfied with "no charge" for just the jacket portion of my bill. Great businesses remember that Customer Service has an invaluable return. Unfortunately, Regal thought $4.40 was too much to pay for a satisfied customer. My family and I will be looking for a new Dry Cleaner that cares about quality work and making things right. We will miss their convenient location.
