Editorial Review for Red Habanero – by Lori Lovely

In Short
The bare-bones decor allows the limited menu to take the starring role in this small Tex-Mex grill. Choose your heat level: The complimentary salsa bar offers hot, fiery and asbestos-level habanero salsa, spicy tomatillo salsa and a milder house blend. A familiar menu of nachos, quesadillas, fajitas and burritos is rejuvenated with fresh ingredients and large portions.

Insider Tips

When to Go

Fast-food style service and minimal ambience--not to mention a location along the booming 96th Street restaurant row make this the perfect lunch destination.

What to Drink

Choices are limited to soft drinks and a short list of bottled beer. Go for the Mexican imports.

The food was pretty good, but far from the best I have ever had. Definitely like Qdoba and Chipotle a lot better!!!

Rice that sits around in a giant bin, greasy meat, and flavorless salsas fill the menu. There is little reason to return here. Parking is difficult, and service was not friendly. How is cheese in a can "fresh"?

Pros: inexpensive

Cons: dirty dining room
