Editorial Review for Circle City Bar & Grille – by Christopher Raymond

The Scene
The hotel restaurant in the distinguished downtown Marriott has become a prized dining destination. The inviting room features oversized cushy booths, warm wood tones and vibrant artwork that depicts local scenes--including a full wall devoted to the majestic Monument Circle.

The Food
There's a regional twist to the eclectic, innovative menu, which looks to the Indiana countryside for culinary inspiration. Mouthwatering dishes like homegrown Maple Leaf Farms breast of duck served with sweet orange segments, crunchy hazelnut croquettes and crisp summer vegetables update local traditions. While the eight-ounce filet mignon is butter-tender, set off by a flavorful mushroom glaze. Circle City's local concept extends to its selection of wines, which includes only North American labels. A giant slice of creamy carrot cake topped with a heaping scoop of vanilla ice cream makes a sweet finish.

Insider Tips

Parking

The hotel is several blocks from the heart of the city, making parking at meters a strong possibility. Meter parking will not only save you time, it will also save you money when you compare it to the pricey on-site parking garage.

When to Go

On Friday and Saturday nights you can enjoy live jazz while you dine or drink at the bar.

Circle City Bar and Grille offers heartland cuisine at its best. The Private Dining Room is perfect for groups up to thirty. The breakfast buffet is very extensive. There is live jazz music every Wednesday night along with wine tasting.

Pros: extensive wine list, excellent service, Private Dining Room
