Carmel Water Heater. Had Attaboy Plumbing plumber install new water heater and have been extremely pleased with their work. Unlike other plumbing companies their warranty includes labor, not just parts. Definitely will have their plumber work at my house again.

My New Plumber. I've used other plumbing companies from the greater Indianapolis area, but this was my first experience with AttaBoy Plumbing Company. I was impressed with how courteous their plumber was and that he wore shoe covers and looked and acted very professional.

I had called AttaBoy because I had had some drains backing up into my basement. He gave me options to take care of my problem and brought a leaking toilet issue to my attention as well, that I was not even aware of. Their plumbing prices were fair and I appreciated having a good plumber sent out instead of a salesman!

ATTABOY!. Our plumber repaired leaking toilet; hooked up gas line to new outdoor fire pit. Mark is the name of the plumber and he did an excellent job-he had to burrow under our deck to get to the gas line and hook it up, but never complained about having to get dirty and cold to do the job. We wouldn't use any other plumbing company.

Great Service. Attaboy Plumbing came out to replace my hot water heater, because the interior storage compartment had rusted out. I have used them for other plumbing work in the past.

I have always been impressed with the way that they treat me from the moment that I call. They handle everything on the phone well. They always get someone out extremely promptly. They are very professional and very clean. The plumber is always very cordial. I have never had an issue where I had to call them back out. They only carry a higher end water heater and it automatically comes with a six year warranty.

Very Professional. When we had a water softener problem, I remembered the commercial, "Better Call Attaboy!" So I called. They showed up on time and fixed the softener, and also cleared up a drainage problem we had in the shower. They suggested we replace the softener because of how old the one we owned was.

We agreed, and after the old softener was removed, they hauled it away! Their pricing was fair, and we got the softest water ever. I would not go anywhere else.

Well !!!!. These people are just greedy. Their practices are very fake and unprofessional. They are those wolves dressed up in sheeps clothing ! Go else where.

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. Attaboy – The Good, The Bad, The Ugly

My water heater died on 6/1/09- a Monday night about 7:30 p.m. during the middle of a storm in northern Indianapolis.

The Good - I called Attaboy, and their phone message encouraged me to wait until the next day. If I did, I would receive a 10% discount. I left my information. I had to be in Louisville the next day, so my wife was at home when their rep showed up at 9:30 a.m. He was very nice.

The Bad - Here were the installed prices for a new water heater:

Buddy Club Membership: $ 99.00 (added to the following)

Option #1 $1239.00

Option #2 $1497.00

Option #3 $1822.00

My cost to receive this estimate was an $89 inspection fee, which would be waived if I had some work done.

I asked a simple question – break this cost down into parts and labor for me. I had been assuming that the cost would be around $800 at the worst. $400 for a replacement mid-grade water heater (40 gallon) and another $250-$400 to install it. The response was “we cannot break it down for you, these are the prices given to us by the office and we don’t get a breakdown”.

So, for $89 I received an estimate to do the work that was, at first blush, 67% higher than what I expected. I had a malfunctioning water softener as well, and asked him to look at it. He did not supply an estimate to repair that, though it is not too old.

I’m disappointed. I called another reputable contractor (plumber) while on the road to Louisville that was recommended by a friend during the time that Attaboy was looking at the water softener. He quoted $640 to replace the water heater with a mid-grade water heater, and another $60 if he hauled off the existing water heater. The work is now done.

The Ugly - How does one not get to the point of feeling that price gouging is being attempted? I called later in the morning to talk to the Attaboy home office, I shared that I was happy with the salesman who was pleasant and nice, but not happy with the cost of the services offered and the fact that I had to pay $89 to get an estimate that was excessive and exorbitant (in my mind at least - and was supposed to be a 10% discount). I was told my comments would be passed along (inferring I might receive a call back to discuss it). I never heard back from anyone.

Attaboy Plumbing Problems- 0 stars. Attaboy originally came to fix the water pipe outside my house coming through the basement wall on 10/09/07. The next day I had a leak inside my basement where the pipe comes through the wall that was replaced. The same technician came out and said he would give me a 20 year warranty if I would let them patch from the inside and I agreed. He put some patching cement on the inside of the basement wall and was fired soon after that. 1 year and one month later the leak reappeared. I called Attaboy and Richard Bainey (Owner) said I didn't have a warranty for the repair unless I had a receipt which I couldn't find at the time. I found the receipt the next day and everything changed. Attaboy has been out 4 times since the so-called origional fix. Today 05/18/09 they came out and wanted to bust a hole from inside my basement wall to seal the outside of the house all because they didn't want to dig it up from the outside of the house and repair like they should have done in the beginning.

I called Richard Bainey again and he said that that would be the only way they would fix the problem that they created was to bust a 4" hole in my basement wall??? He said to file suit with him and hung up. Don't use Attaboy but if you have already, keep your receipts!!!!

Roto-Rooter is on the way to fix the job properly. RD

scam artists. Maybe I shouldn't give Attaboy one star because they DID sell me a working water heater. But they did sell me one without a warranty for the same price as a new one. It was my fault for falling for it, but I am, one month later, still resentful.

I tried to contact Attaboy, but belatedly realized their website lists zero street addresses. We have used Attaboy twice and neither invoice lists an address. Their telephone representative has never returned my call regarding my complaint. When I finally came up with an address by Googling --and it was unclear which Indianapolis branch had come to my home-- I mailed Attaboy a letter and included a stamped, self-addressed envelope for a reply. A month later, I have had no response.

I will never use this company again.

Outstanding professionalism. I called Attaboy after a long night of trying to solder copper pipe after we had a home improvement project spiral out of control. The customer service agent was friendly and helpful, and I was able to schedule a service call for that morning. The plumber who arrived was friendly, professional, extremely knowledgable, and did an outstanding job on the repair. He patiently answered all my questions about what we did wrong, and offered some great advice about what to avoid in the future. He did a thorough plumbing inspection and left the job completed on time and in pristine condition. He was extremely courteous, asking me before he removed any drywall or installed any plumbing fixtures. Truly outstanding customer service and expertise, I would recommend Attaboy to any friends or family.
