Editorial Review for Some Guys Pizza Pasta Grill – by Marc Allen
The Scene
Fast-paced, independent restaurant where couples on a date are likely to be surrounded by a family on one side and a table of 60-somethings on the other. It's well known around Indy for great pizza, and always crowded during peak hours.
The Food
What Some Guys does best is pizza, bread and salad. Roma bread is thick, doughy and slathered with herbs and olive oil. Dinner salads come stacked with mozzarella cheese, tomatoes, peppers, lettuce and red onions. The French dressing is sweet, but tasty. Pizzas come with a Roma bread-like crust and dozens of possible combinations of toppings, cheeses and sauces. Pastas and their sauces are disappointingly plain. Angel hair with clams and olive oil, for example, had almost no flavor. Even the Alfredo sauce lacked significant cheese flavor.

I've never had a meal here that has left me totally satisified. Last time I was there the water wasn't working - and eveyone was drinking beer and wine - which was fine..but how can you even cook when the water isn't running? Not sure, but it was filled to the brim, the wait time was a joke, and my baked pasta was overcooked. They also need a slight renovation, the bathroom, ceiling, and old metal booths aren't what they used to be. I'm also never impressed with the comfort factor - space is limited - and the staff is often ornery.
Pros: Location, Ample Parking
Cons: Overpriced, Too crowded
