Editorial Review for Tiki Bob's – by Christopher Raymond
In Short
This family-owned-and-operated club has been a fixture on the Indy downtown nightlife scene for years. Live music and drinking and dancing create a spring-break type atmosphere 365 days a year. The island-themed club also offers a unique Hawaiian influenced menu, with such flavorful choices as mango-roasted pepper relish and low-calorie chicken hula wraps. Daily drink specials help to keep the crowds moving through the doors.

I have been to TB's many times with no problems. I did modeling for Indianapolis Monthly posing in & around a limousine out front of Tiki Bobs to showcase Indianapolis nightlife in May of 2001. I am a professional that is a Business Development Manager I am telling you this in order to showcase to you that I am not some punk nor do I hang out with any. I was at Tiki Bobs last night with 3 friends. We were inside & then myself & the 2 guys ran out to my car to get my phone, 5 mins later we're back & he said 1 of the guys couldn’t enter that his clothes were too baggy. I told him we had already been in & had hand stamps to which he said well your not going back in. I asked him what was baggy on his clothes and pulled up his shirt (a fitted black t-shirt not long or baggy) to reveal his pants which were belted around the middle of his waist he still said no, I then told the guys that I was going to go get my cousin & let her know they wouldn’t let him in & was told at that point that I couldn’t enter either. When asked why instead of giving an explanation I was told to move or he would have me removed & then motioned over a police officer. My cousin passed the door & came out. Two other bouncers then came out & told the bouncer that we had already been in there & asked why we weren’t allowed back in that we looked fine & hadn’t caused any problems inside. He told them he was in charge now & that we weren’t going in. They have pictures of 1 guy on their website & also have pictures of both their girlfriends on it (the girlfriends are the ones with the pink colts shirt & he has short sleeve striped shirt un-tucked). You can look up the 1 brother on the website & their girlfriends to see that these type girls wouldn’t be hanging out with thug people either. We then as we ended up at another bar where we ran into three other well dressed gentleman that had been in Tiki Bob’s & left only to return & be told they weren’t allowed back in either.

This venue has a great atmosphere, friendly staff and reasonable prices. A moderate challenge for those in wheelchairs, however, the staff is helpful which makes all the difference! This place is becoming more popular for many good reasons!
Pros: service, atmosphere, prices
Cons: crowds, wheelchair access, parking (at times)
