#1 Spa in Indy – Thank you for the soothing, relaxing, and enjoyable time that I spent at your spa today.
The two esthetians that worked with me were very interested, caring and performed their duties with ease.
I came because I was given a gift certificate by my life partner. I will visit again and maybe enjoy a meal next time.
Again, thank you for a great time.
Horrible Customer Service – My 2 girlfriends and I planned a girls' weekend a couple of weeks ago. We each purchased the Totally Organic package which included a facial, body polish, manicure, and pedicure.
My 1st service was a body polish. It was the most awkward experience of my life. I was escorted back to a bright room with 2 hand towels laying on a massage table covered in plastic and was told to undress and then cover my private parts with the towels. There was no blanket to pull over myself while I waited and I felt so strange laying there waiting for the stranger to come back into the room. The body polish consisted of someone rubbing a sugar scrub from my knee to ankle and then wiping it off with a damp towel. When she got to my upper body she rubbed it from my shoulder to wrist and then wiped it off again with a towel. When it came time for my back, I had to sit up for 3 minutes while the lady breathed in my ear rubbing this scrub on - it reminded me of having an epidural! Finally, I had some lotion applied to my arms and calves. It lasted about 35 minutes and was supposed to be an hour long service.
One of my friend's had the same lady do her body polish and we agreed that it was very weird. When comparing notes with our other friend, we found out she was scrubbed on her legs, feet, arms, hands, and collarbone area. She was completely wrapped in warm towels and received a massage.
My manicure lasted 1 day before 6 nails were chipped.
The spa offered to redo the body polish or said that they would refund us 50% of what the body polish was worth. I have no desire to return to The Villa Inn. I spent almost $400 dollars there between my 4 services, gratuity, lunch, and buying an OPI nail polish.
It is so obvious that all they care about is the final $ amount in their pocket at the end of the day and could care less about keeping their customers happy. I'm sure I will not be refunded the 20% tip that I was forced to pay for the horrible service as well. I would not recommend this place to anyone!
WACKO OWNER – I had booked a trip to the spa awhile back, well.. i went, and as soon as I walked in the door, I felt this feeling that was not good. I went up to the front desk to inform them I was there for my appointment... The woman at the front desk ( the owner) was horrible!! I had decided to follow through with the services either way. The girls working there were great and had a wonderful personality. The owner had slipped the girl doing my services a note to see her after the service. I had jokingly said to her watch out, i had walked in and that lady was mean to me!!!.. she had a look of concern and I was not sure why because she seemed like such a wonderful girl... Needless to say the owner is not only a HORRIBLE person to the clients, but the employees as well...! I told her from what I could tell she could find a MUCH better job. Those girls get NO CUT out of the money that they make there and their tips, they dont even get unless their cash!!! This owner is crazy and ill behaved and I never want to return there again!
Rude customer service - Hard-nosed cancellation policy is not customer -focused – We are in tight financial times in the US and customers are more discerning than ever regarding how they spend their hard-earned money. Unfortuntely, The Villa in Indianapolis does not understand the importance of a customer-focused business. Their hard-nosed cancellation policies and unwillingness to focus on the customer literally drives customers away. They would rather lose a customer who scheduled 2 appointments per month for one year than negotiate a lower cancellation fee or no cancellation fee. Due to a physician's advise I was asked to not have a a particular service. When I called the day before the service, but less than 24 hours before the service, they charged me full fee for cancellation - $200.00. This in fact, now affects their bottom-line by approximately $3000, not including any products I might have purchased in the year to come. This was all because they refused to budge on their cancellation policy. I will never return to such a poorly managed establishment and I don't recommend that anyone attend this spa.
Unethical Practices, Bad Customer Service – Some friends and I scheduled spa appointments for the same day. The owner found out that we knew each other and tried to hold us to their group policies, even though we never signed a group contract. When one friend had to cancel (3 days before the appointment, well within the 24 hour notice required for individual appointments) the owner threatened that she would charge my credit card if the girl didn't go ahead and pay in full for the pedicure she canceled, including a 20% group gratuity. My friend, who felt bullied, ended up telling the owner to go ahead and charge her card but to give me the scheduled pedicure as a gift. I had signed up for 3 appointments, which I confirmed with the spa's business manager 48 hours before the appointments. Twenty-four hours before my appointment, the owner called me to confirm, but when she listed my appointments, she added 2 treatments that one of my friends had signed up for. I told her that her information was not correct and that her business manager had given me different information the day before. She responded, "Liberty (the business manager) works for me" and made it clear that if I did not have the woman who was having the treatments call and tell her to put the treatments on a different credit card, they would be charged to me. I found it surprising that I was required to fix the spa's mistake. Luckily, I was able to get a hold of my friend (who was very confused by what had happened since she gave her own credit card information when scheduling and had never mentioned my name). When I arrived at the spa, the owner told me that my appointment had been at 2:30 instead of the 3:00 time I had scheduled. The technician took me back anyway and was very kind. I overheard another technician tell my technician "she doesn't want you do it, but do it anyway" (referring to the pedicure charged to my friend). To say the owner of the spa was rude, is to put it mildly. I left the spa more tense than when I entered.
Rude Owner – The environment should be relaxing and the technicians are wonderful. However, after multiple encounters with the stone-faced shrew at the front desk I will not be returning or recommending this spa.
Relaxation at its finest! – My spa day at the Villa was wonderful! My mother and sister took me there for a relaxing day before I got married. It was the perfect way to slow down. I had a hot stone massage and a manicure and pedicure. Everything was wonderful. The technicians were very friendly and did a wonderful job with all of our services. We also had a delicious lunch in the beautiful dining room. I would highly recommend The Villa to all of my friends and I plan on taking my new husband there for our 1 year anniversary!!!
Home away from home. – Our stay at the Villa was amazing. The staff members made us feel at home. We enjoyed our wonderful spa treatments while enjoying wine & appetizers too. Higly recommended but they just need a better dessert menu for the restaurant.
Luxury? Hardly. – While The Villa boasts "wellness," it is anything but well. I flew in during the winter expecting a great boutique hotel stay, but left completely disappointed. The spa was pathetic. It was crammed in the basement. I got a mud wrap and when it came time to clean the mud off, they had to use towels because there was no vicchy shower. Dinner was good, but the restaurant was barren---I was practically the only person there and it was a weekend! The room was a whopping $225 per night---so I was expecting luxury. And while it looked nice, my room was freezing! I kept asking the front desk to turn up the heat, but when nothing happened, they started bringing up space heaters. It was totally ridiculous. The next morning I told the front desk that I felt I should receive some sort of compensation for the heat not working, but the owner insisted I pay full price! I was livid.
In short, if you want luxury, you're looking in the wrong place.
Proprietor Rude – My girl who did my pedicure was very good. My mom has been going there for a while and has never had the same girl twice. The lady at the front desk was very rude because we were late because of traffic and I was suprised to notice her name tag said "proprietor". The spa staff are very nicce, but be careful with the front desk they have some strange rules and bad sttitudes
