Editorial Review for Chicago Prime Steakhouse – by Alice Van Housen
The Scene
Handsome and serene, this dining oasis near Woodfield Mall is clubby but not macho, refined but not stuffy. Savvy servers do the whole meat-tray thing, and background jazz (live on Thursday, Friday and Saturday) helps guests relax amid the upholstered dark wood booths and dramatic drapery. An inviting lounge completes the scenario.
The Food
The classic steakhouse fare stars prime beef and fresh seafood, with some twists like pork chops in a blueberry-bourbon sauce and grilled Alaskan king salmon. The wonderful beef menu has a cut for every carnivore's taste. Juicy, slurpy-good oysters Rockefeller are highlights, and plump shrimp cocktail is just right. The menu satisfies steakhouse expectations with favorites like Caesar salad, twice-baked potato and creamed spinach.

Hi there - I celebrated my 40th bday there with close friends. He had a WONDERFUL TIME. Great service and excllent food! The Prime Rib was the best I've ever had and I've dined at the best rated Steakhouses inthe city. Gibson, Capital Grille, Magnums, Rosebud, Chop House, Gene's. We had drinks and gathered in the bar lounge while waiting to be seated and we had so much fun. I don't remember the bartenders name, mike or bob or something, he was hysterical and told us how much HE loved working there. So that says a lot about the place. I had the best birthday in forever there and the staff all came and sang to me. I think the entire restaurant knew it was my birthday cause even the host wished me well when I passed the front desk. It was really busy though so I don't think I'd just show without a reservation. my boyfriend also got kind of jealous with all the cute guys in the bar trying to buy me drinks. Too bad. haha I am going back for sure

I am eagerly awaiting the return of Chicago Prime Steakhouse. Although I travel the country often, it is rare to find a restaurant that has it all the way Chicago Prime did. Each time that I thought I had had my best meal there, my next visit to Chicago Prime would thrill me all over again. I love and know good food and their meals were a feast for my taste buds. When you get that AND impeccable service all delivered in the most beautiful, warm and romantic environment, it just doesn't get any better. I heard that there is a possibility that a new Chicago Prime may open and I just cant wait! There are so many friends that I have recommended Chicago Prime to who had not yet tried it. I'm thrilled that they may be able to partake in the experience soon. I hope all of you will do the same.
