Beef not so prime. Had dinner with a friend Friday 04 15 2011. It was a special occasion so I did the research. Morton's has the highest rating in the city. The service was fine but the quality of meat was mediocre, to say the least. My steak was cooked incorrectly (everyone agreed that a mistake had been made and this was handled efficiently. I did hear a cook make a snide remark regarding the situation. The kitchen is open, so I might suggest a bit more discretion). My issue is with the steak. Small, chewy, not on a par with comperable steakhouses on the Northside. I hope this was just two bad cuts of meat. I have a feeling it is the norm, however.

USDA prime beef, elegant tableside service and mammoth martinis.. In Short
With its dark wood details, celebrity photos and tuxedo-clad waiters, this upscale steakhouse chain has the air of a posh men's club. Service is professional and discreet, with bartenders making a mean martini. Dinners begin with a waiter-driven cart laden with fresh vegetables, live lobster and cuts of steak; customers choose from porterhouse, rib-eye, bone-in prime rib and more. Side dishes are traditional and enormous, from baked potatoes and creamed spinach to steamed broccoli with hollandaise.

Great Customer Service. My husband and I along with 2 other couples ate at Morton's in Indianapolis on Friday evening for his birthday. Our waitress was fantastic! The menus had my husband's name written across the top calling attention to his birthday. Our waitress took our picture and gave a picture to each couple to keep. The food was absolutely wonderful! When it was time to clear the dishes from the table several waiters and waitresses came all at once and cleared the dishes in a matter of seconds. By far the best service I have ever received! Morton's made our night and my husband's birthday truly memorable.

Excellent Steaks!!!!. If you?re looking for a place that is very warm and cozy with an mid ninetenth century feel look no further!!!! We started off with a very selective wine list which was moderately priced. The appetizer we chose was the jumbo shrimp cocktail, the shrimp were the biggest I had ever seen but the cocktail was just OK... One nice feature is they bring all the food choices to your table before you decide on your meal, even a live lobster!!! I went with the porter house steak which was prepared just as I requested with a side of asparagus and mashed potatoes that were very generous!!!! Unfortunately I had no room for dessert but I will definitely save room next time!!!!!

GREAT FOOD! Excellent service and great atmosphere. My girlfriend and I were surprised by my Uncle and taken out here when we came into town. We didn't know we were coming to such a nice place and were underdressed and taken aback. I felt bad because I felt it was a very nice place, but the wait staff made us feel very comfortable. I love that they bring out cuts of meat and seafood on a cart to your table to show you ahead of time. The staff was VERY well prepared and willing to answer any and all questions and made some great reccomendations. The meats that we all got were probably one of, if not THE, best I've ever had, and I've been in some very fine restaurants. The atmosphere is very intriguing and intimate. Very classy yet very comfortable. I would reccomend to anybody and everybody.

Wouldn't give them another try! Not worth the $$$$ or time!. Dining an out of town buisness client, your hopes are to impress them with your town and choice of restaurant in which to take them for a great evening. And when you have to apologize at the end of the evening, you know you made the wrong one. This was our first time at Morton's and the last. Made reservations and were seated promptly. from then on it was a waiting game. Lot's of service running around, but not at our table of 6. And at 9.95 per a glass of chardonnay, your glass should not be empty for very long. Total dining time ,over 2 1/2 hours. We were offered a free dessert for our inconvenience, at which our guest asked for it to go. If I had to say there was a good part of the evening, it would have been the steak, but for the $$$$ and time, we'll go else where. night out - 8/21/06

stellar service. My wife and I frequent Mortons steakhouse. The staff is extremely friendly and we are always warmly welcomed. We feel like part of the family everytime we visit. It is pleasing to see the familiar faces that are happy to see us and appreciate our patronage! Mortons is by far above any other restaurant in the city, their attention to detail and sincerity makes me

Needs a Higher Rating. This restaurant should definately be rated higher than #7 on the list. I feel as though not many people know about it and that is why it is not rated higher. It was one of the best steaks I have ever had next to Gene & Georgetti's in Chicago. We even took our 4 year old daughter and we all had a wonderful experience.

Ratings Error. To have this restaurant rated below Ponderosa tells me that the people who are doing the ratings do not know what a great meal is. Yes it is pricey, but if you are looking for a great steak and great service, this is yhe place to find it.

IKnowSteak. In a city that prides itself on an old, unfriendly Steakhouse, I found a welcome in a home away from home....Morton's. Hands down Morton's provides the most caring staff in Indy. I've tried every Steakhouse in the surrounding area, and I conclude that nobody does it better than Morton's. Indy should feel good about having Morton's in there city. Otherwise, the city would not have steakhouse worth spending your money with.
