Great Experiences

by crazypao at Citysearch

I've been to this venue three times, one though, I was too young to remember. (Oh those Spice Girl's days...) The first time I can remember was Rush's Snakes and Arrows tour in 2007. I don't remember waiting in line at all, so the wait time is insignificant. We had lawn tickets, and were able to see everything. We didn't miss a single part of the show. My second was the Hallowicked in 2007. We got there about an hour before gates opened, and did have quite a wait, but everybody was so excited about the show that it was one of my best experiences waiting in a line ever. I was actually kind of sad when I ordered VIP tickets this year because we wouldn't be waiting in line. We had pit tickets that year and let me say, it was just awesome. I don't remember having any problems with parking or anything. Now, we didn't buy any drinks or food, but if you just plan ahead and eat before the concert, you won't have to spend a bundle on food.

I would definitely recommend this venue to others, just think, you're going to have to wait on parking, in line, and pay an arm and a leg just about any place you go.

  • Pros: Fun atmosphere
  • Cons: I can't think of any at the moment.

Get there early!!!

by tuftostuff at Citysearch

I drove from Columbus, Ohio on Sunday 8/3/08 to see Radiohead. The show started at 7:30, so I left Columbus at 2:15PM & exited I-70 in Noblesville at about 5:00PM. After exiting I-70, I got lost on the country roads because Rt 238 was closed & the detour signs were nonexistent.

After asking a local for directions, I found the venue at about 5:30PM. There was no line to enter the parking lot and I got right in, no problem. I paid for PREMIER Parking & I can't say whether or not it was worth $25, but I have no regrets.

I walked up to the gates to get in line & it was packed because the gates didn't open until 6:00PM. When the gates finally opened, everyone had their bags searched & some people (including ladies) were patted down by male workers, with the backs of their hands. Every person was allowed to carry in 1 bottle of water, with caps removed & thrown away upon entering.

I had tickets for lawn seats, and the middle area filled up quickly. I decided to take a seat on left side of the stage in front of one of the screens. This was a good decision & I had a good view, especially because I packed binoculars.

At the end of the show, the crowd exited quickly. I jumped in my car, reversed out with no problem & no waiting. I don't know if the attendants allow PREMIER Parking to exit more quickly, but I was out on the road in less than 2 minutes... however, I had a tough time finding my way back to the interstate & had to stop at the gas station to ask for directions.

All in all, my advice is to leave extra early and you'll have no problem getting to the show on time. All the seats seem to have good views. The venue was actually a lot smaller than I imagined it would be. Radiohead was absolutely spectacular & their concert will go down as one of the highlights of my life.

Horrible experience at Verizon Wireless Music Center

by amyrenea at Citysearch

We purchased tickets to see Taylor Swift and Rascal Flatts at Verizon Wireless Music Center in Noblesville, Indiana. My daughter is a HUGE Taylor Swift fan, and talked of nothing else for weeks. The concert was to begin at 8:00, and by 6:45 we were 3 miles from the concert. Plenty of time, right? Wrong. We sat in traffic until 9:00 to move a mere 3 miles, burning $4.00 a gallon gas, and completely missed Taylor Swift's performance. According to their website, Verizon's capacity is about 24,000 people, but yet I was told 45,000 tickets were sold. The concert was obviously WAY oversold, the staff was rude, we couldn't even find a 1 foot square of grass to stand on once we got there, they were completely sold out of their extremely overpriced water, and my daughter was heartbroken. By far my worst concert experience ever.
